Sure, sure, everyone was delighted to see Google finally revealing its Chrome OS and Chrome-based laptop to consumers forwarding to a release date next year. But one should try to examine first what would you really get should you decide to buy this device? For all we know, the CR-48 Chrome laptop is now getting a lot of the attention because its set of specifications are something which you can only call as a netbook and not a notebook / laptop, not to mention, those strange 3G pricing not fully revealed by Google and Verizon. All we can say to you now is sleep over it and don’t get your hopes too up for this device until we get some reviews.

As of today, Google managed to reveal its partners on delivering the chrome OS devices on 2011. And it would be Acer and Samsung. At this point, its not yet revealed if Chrome OS would only be for notebook or laptops, for all we know it could be suitable for tablets as well – that’s just my premonition. So far, the features for these feat are: Cloud-based printing via Google cloud print, fastest boot time from a laptop (which could be less than 60 seconds), Profile sharing from your Chrome OS guest users, 3G access via Verizon and in-house Google security since all of your storage would be based on Cloud.
A lot of new features but in the end, the question remains, is it really practical to get these laptops if you already have one which has a far-more complete usability? I guess only time can tell.
