Its been awhile since we heard any updates for the Acer Travelmate series. In fact, last year, we only have one major news for this model revealing the 6594 laptop.
At the Computex today, we were surprised to see a new TM notebook dangling in one of the booths, and this one will be called as the Acer Travelmate 8481.
Likewise, this device would possess the rumored LG Shuriken display along with a slim form-factor. At first glance, it’s noticeable how ridiculously thin it is; and it’s obviously comparable with the ultrathin laptops revealed by Asus yesterday.
As for its specifications, this notebook would run an Intel Core i7 type of CPU, NVIDIA GeForce GT520M for its GPU, up to 320GB for its hard drive, with no hints about its memory size. Other goodies include an HDMI support for wirelessly streaming on external media devices, Bluetooth 3.0 / WiFi support, USB 3.0 ports; and this one has a fingerprint reader whereas the company touts it can last up to 13 hours on its Li-Ion battery.
Naturally, eventhough this is a laptop, it doesn’t have an optical drive since its form-factor is very thin. Expect its price and release date to be announced later this month.
