You may heard about the Acer Travelmate 8481 hitting Europe last month along with its Sandy Bridge CPU, ultraportable design and a body that weighs in for only 1.5kg. As of today, its US version is now revealed called Acer TravelMate Timeline 8481T packing a screen size of 14-inch along with a 13-inch form factor embodying the compact design of its older sibling.
This notebook is powered by Second Generation Intel Core i5 processor ideal for users who need better multitasking and productivity on their laptop. It runs an Intel HD Graphics 3000 with 128MB dedicated memory (similar to Macbook Air) and it will be displayed on a 14-inch HD screen with 1366×768 resolution. Its memory is set to 4GB up to 8GB DDR3 depending on your customization, 320GB 7200RPM hard disk, WiFi & Bluetooth support, webcam with built-in microphone, WiDi (Wireless Display) support for those who want to connect 8481t’s display on a bigger screen; USB 3.0 port and claims of its Lithium Ion battery life to last for 13 hours.
Likewise, the only main difference between 8481t and 8481 is about the latter being called as a “netbook”. If you are interested, this “ultrathin” laptop will hit its release date on September for a starting a price of $999 on US & Canada.
