In this age and time where everything is going 3D, Adobe Flash definitely doesn’t want to be left behind. As a matter of fact, the company expressed its intention of coming up with a future version of Adobe Flash which is supported by 3D graphics. The Flash Player is available as a browser plug-in that allow users to play games and view multimedia content. Google’s You Tube uses Flash Player in its media distribution.

The intention to come up with an Adobe Flash Player with 3D support was evident in the Adobe Max Conference held last October which includes a presentation entitled “Flash Player 3D Future”. This move looks to be a very important advancement for Flash. This will greatly interest web developers and even just simple web browsers.
Way back in 2008, Adobe already added some 3D features in its Adobe Flash Player 10 but to a limited extent only. It does not provide a full 3D environment just like the one in a first-person shooter game. While the 10.1 version doesn’t have any interface change at all but only some minor improvements.
Adobe Flash Player 11 sounds to be the perfect fit for the 3Ds full arrival. This is expected to be something big and could lead to significant development in games and other multimedia content. With Adobe Flash with 3D graphics, it is expected that games, videos and other multimedia will be more exciting and entertaining.
Aside from this 3D graphics, Flash is also exerting great effort in rebuilding its Flash features which includes:
- Hypertext Markup Language (HTML)- used in describing Web Pages
- Cascading Style Sheets (CSS) –used for formatting
- Scalable Vector Graphics Technology (SVG)
- JavaScript- programming language for Web applications
Adobe Officials did not give any information regarding the release date of this 3D Flash Player. Having this new platform only indicates that an important development is happening to games and videos, since most of the online games use the Flash Player.
It seems that the 3D technology has been all around, in fact most of the major Web browsers like Mozilla Firefox, Google’s Chrome and Apple’s Safari are being enhance with 3D technology called WebGL which is based on OpenGL that has already gain a wide support.
The Adobe officials did not give any information regarding the release date of the Adobe Flash 3D. They seem to be quiet about this. But given the idea of having 3D supported Adobe Flash sounds well but this we still have to prove in the future when it is already release. So let’s just wait and see.
