There are some ongoing rumors in the tech industry. Amazon is being rumored to be buying RIM and the whole Blackberry Industry. Well, in spite of the fact that RIM still continues to unveil new smartphones, the reports that Amazon is buying the said company after Samsung said no to the said deal. If you still remember, Samsung has also been rumored to be buying RIM, but Samsung has denied this rumor and said that they have no plans of buying the said company at all. RIM has been rumored to turn down a number of bids from various companies including Nokia and Microsoft.
According to the rumors, Amazon is already having some talks and an offer has also been made as well, but the details of the deal were not yet revealed and confirmed by any of the two parties involved. RIM has attained its peak around three years ago and reached a company worth of $ 144 billion, but a lot of things has changed so that company may be worth lower than its worth three years ago. By the end of December, RIM has been reported to experience a loss of more than 90% percent of its value because of various factors. Ever since this time, RIM was rumored to be looking for prospective buyers.
As of present, Amazon is seen to be the most ideal buyer that will be taking over RIM and the whole Blackberry industry. Both companies are rumored to have preliminary understanding already and might close the deal anytime soon. Apparently, RIM is worth $ 7 billion only thus, making it very interesting for potential buyers out there and Amazon’s offer is around $ 10 billion so this negotiation seems to have a future.
There are some rumors that Amazon and RIM will be making the final announcement and give details of this negotiation within the first quarter of 2012. But for now, RIM and Amazon does not want to give any comment about the said issue. So what can you say about this ongoing rumors?
