The Google I/O developer’s conference has basically showed off what the future of Google holds. This is through the introduction or unveiling of the company’s latest and upcoming products that will surely catch the attention of many. And during the said event Google has unveiled the co-called Android@Home framework, which pertains to a set of protocols for controlling light switches, alarm clocks and any other home appliances through the use of any Android device. This is in line with the search giant’s plan of turning any home into one great connection device.

In order to give an idea about this Androids Home framework, a demo was made by Google. Basically, the company showed off the capability to control lights using and Android tablet. In addition to this, Android @Homes framework also makes it essential in controlling control wireless or connected device.
Additionally, Google also showed off a new type of Android device called Project Tungsten. Basically, this is Google’s new home theater system that he has given me. This speaker system comes with several speakers to its Android OS and an Android tablet is used to control the system. Google also demonstrated how the system will be able to start playing the system by simply swiping near-field communication, enabled CD case in front of the “Project Tungsten” setup.

Basically, Project Tungsten will enable your device to read an NFC-enabled CD and add the music to your Google Music online library. With another tap of your Android device, the music will start automatically. So how would you feel if you can enjoy your favorite music?
There are some press people present in the video and they have noted that the Project Tungsten will be a threat to Sonos and its music sync products. And once the Tungsten project has launched it will begin a new era for Google.
Apparently, with all these announcements, Google seems to target only one thing and that is Microsoft and Apple. Well, Google’s smart homes ambition seems to be so difficult and will take some time before it materializes. But only one thing is for sure- the battle for the smart home has begun!
