Here’s your first scoop of the day brought to you by some tech-pundits in the blogosphere claiming that the Android 2.4 version will be called as “Ice Cream” and to make things even more funnier, it was said that Google would reveal this update at the heat of the summer this year.

According to pocket-lint, they have some confirmation that Google would be unleashing Android 2.4 since its Android 3.0 (Honeycomb) were meant for tablets. Anyway, this news is residing on the half-full / half-empty part of the bottle because Android developers stated before that Android 3.0 would be capable of supporting smartphones as well; and to add more haziness to the story, the basis of this scoop was that rogue Android 2.4 stock found on a Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc we reported at this week’s CES event.
The thing here is this, engadget got a statement from Sony Ericsson that this was just a glitch and didn’t reveal any statement if 2.4 version would come as an official platform for a next-generation OS for Android. Anyway, we are still not disclosing the possibility of this ice-cream release since its Android developers are following the alphabetical orders for each of the Android versions (Donut, Éclair, Froyo, Gingerbread, Honeycomb, Ice Cream). I just hope this one would taste even better!
