Robotized decadent desserts are a good thing especially when it brings good things like the next Android OS.

Continuing the trend of naming their Android OS platform based on sweet, delicious, and decadent desserts, President of ARM Tudor Brown made a leaked announcement that the next version of Android OS after Gingerbread (3.0) and Honeycomb (3.5) will be Ice Cream (4.0). Although Google hasn’t officially come out nor published this news, Mr. Brown is still a strong (and credible) source of this news since the chipmaker company’s main product is in almost all handsets to date and is very familiar with Android development.
If you will remember, Google has alphabetized their Android line starting with Cupcake (version 1.5), followed by Donut (1.6), then Éclair (2.0) and Froyo or Frozen Yogurt (2.2). Gingerbread and Honeycomb is down the line and if the alphabet hasn’t changed in all this time and you can find a different dessert that starts with I, it’s a pretty compelling argument that the next Android OS will definitely be Ice Cream. But of course, it is still plausible that Big G would change that to bring excitement to the Android community.
Gingerbread is to be released before the end of 2010 and Honeycomb in early 2011 so Ice Cream will be more than likely become available in mid to late 2011.
