Rumors pegged the release of the new iPad 3 on February 24, 2012. What is interesting is the fact that February 24 is the birthdate of the late Apple founder and former CEO Steve Jobs. Releasing the iPad 3 on the said date may be an act of tribute to honor the late Steve Jobs, who died last year of cancer complications.

The rumor was reported in Taiwan which based the reports from the iPad supply chain. Allegedly, employees of companies providing iPad components, such as: Foxconn, Catcher Technology (casings), Simplo Technology (batteries), Amer International Group (connectors) and Genius Electronic Optical (optical lenses); are working overtime to meet the alleged deadline of Apple. Reports also said that 4 million units are being assembled.

As expected, Apple remains silent with the launch of the new iPad 3. Consequently, Apple fans can only satisfy their curiosity and expectations for new Apple gadgets through rumors, such as this, spreading in the tech world.

Speaking of rumors; reports on the hardware of the iPad 3 is that it shall feature a high resolution retina display.
