Rumors have it that Apple has actually sold 51 thousand iPads less than 2 hours. They launched this pre-order last March 12, 2010 at exactly 8:25 am EST. Prior to that 3 months ago the public was so excited about this product and was so eager on searching for information on how to get the pre-order of it. Imagine it was 3 months ago before the actual announcement of Apple about their pre-order launch. You can only take advantage of the pre-order availability on the Apple website itself.
I have read a blog of a person who even set an alarm on that exact day just to order the iPad. 8:30 am on that day he ordered the Apple iPad and at 8:36 am he finished the order. He actually bought a 16GB Wi-Fi iPad. He was promised to have it on April 3. I was actually astonished how it was so easy for me to do my research about this topic. I personally think the rumors are true. Way to go Apple!
