Just two days after the Verizon-Apple conference, here we are again gathering some pretty wild news across the blogosphere about the faith of the next generation iDevices. As some of you may know, as early as August we have reported the first rumor mills for iPhone 5 followed by a more complete guide last November unearthing some astounding features for the 5th generation iPhone including but not limited to: NFC (mobile wallet) technology, improve A4 processor, 8MP camera, 4G network support, smudge free screen, etc.

Well what do you know? It appears today, we have another confirmation for the specifications of the Apple iPhone 5 as well with the iPad 2 in which an insider states it won’t have any ‘home button’ anymore! Before you freak out, the big reason for this is the new multitouch-gesture support that’s going to be launch on iOS 4.3 for iPad this March. This will include a pinch-to-home screen, swipe to reveal multitasking bar, and swipe to switch between apps. Obviously, this would make the home button a bit ‘insignificant’ anymore should this new multitasking gestures be revealed.
In addition to that, now that the home-buttons are gone, this should increase the screen size of the iPhone 5 to at least half an inch making the whole unit covered in its beautiful LCD-pane which is perfect for new application like Apple’s Photo Booth – rumored to happen on iPad 2 for now.
It’s worth noting that since the first iPhone has been unleashed last 2007, Steve Jobs originally intended not to put any buttons at all on the device. It appears on the Apple iPhone 5 release this June, everything will change again. Hopefully.
