The voice-activated iPhone 4S interface Siri could be the missing link for Apple to launch its new smart HDTV sets.

Reportedly, the company has been working on the television since 2007 with late Apple CEO Steve Jobs pushing the company’s engineers to develop the new interface for it. Undoubtedly, if Siri is successfully integrated with current HDTVs, life will be simpler.
The voice-controlled assistant on the iPhone 4S assists users in handling SMS, schedule meetings, make phone calls and more – just by using their voice! And with Siri on Apple-branded TVs, people don’t need to use remote controls or any physical interface to change channels or even stream a movie.
As indicated by Nick Bilton from New York Times, the new Apple TV has been a “guaranteed product” for the company since last year. The new Siri-powered Apple TV would catapult the company a notch higher in the industry giving it a possible profit of $19 billion (if they could get just 5% share in the market). It is said that Apple is waiting for the price of 42-inch TV falls further – which could indicate that the company’s just waiting for the right time to unleash its new TV units.
No particular date was mentioned but it’s estimated that the Siri-powered TV set will be introduced late 2012 with a final release on 2013. If everything is true, Apple will create another milestone in tech history and Mr. Jobs’ legacy lives on.
