In accordance to the most sought apple tablet statement happening in less than 6 hours today, we are delighted to give you the freshest info about this mythical slate (given with ‘oh so many names’) now seems ready, to be demystified out of the pandora’s box. Mythical, legendary, best or worst – It’ll up to your preferences, if this one will be ‘the one’.
To start the rumor-mills with a big bang, here’s a bomb dropped by a Jason Calacanis, CEO of Mahalo.com (A search engine site with a dash of answers.yahoo.com type of features) offering what seems to be the upcoming specs of the Apple Tablet. Here’s a screenshot from TC.com. Btw, it appears that the guy’s serious about this leaked specs.. Oh well, here it goes.
Our take?
1) “Most amazing ever”, “amazing for newspapers”, “super stable”.
Amazing! For a CEO of his kind, throwing some courageous apple-tablet inspired ‘wows’ is just utterly impressive nonetheless, his own opinion only. When Nexus One was released, first few people who got a hand of that device reacted with so much hype: What was that again? “On a beautified steroids”.. Oh well, I don’t know about that now.
2) Battery life is “great” reading ebooks, but not so great in flight mode (2-3 hours only)
Plausible, but this is not something that’s an eye-opener for everyone. We know that one of iPhone’s weaknesses is its fast battery depletion during wifi mode. Perhaps on the new tablet, this flaw will be carry out, but I still hope that’s not the case!
3) “tailor-made games are “sick”, on Wii level” -
“When you speak about wii level, for me it has to be capable of having a motion sensor of tracking my movement as I perform the game. Looking at the two new patent technology, there might be some light with this statement, with a caveat that the games must be modified for the slate only.
4) The customized Farmville app (which Jobs is going to demo tomorrow with the CEO of the company behind it) is “insane”.
Again, an interesting opinion. Although, don’t get your hopes too up too soon. And why Farmville only?
Functions and features:
1) OLED Screen, iPhone OS variation, Multiple Apps (Running music while playing a video, etc) – Very likely, this one has been predicted over and over again.
2) Solar Powered – This is one of the most amazing things that will happen for this device if ever that rumor is true. Although we have been hearing this for weeks now, Mr. Briggs’ article tends to believe that this legendary device won’t have solar capability. Dam-n, I hope there’s still some light for that statement
3) Thumb pads on each sides – Should this be true, I bet it’ll not only rest on the side. I wonder what does he truly means with the word “thumb pads”
4) Finger-print verification – Plausible: We have that on our laptops, why shouldn’t it be implemented on this messiah gadget?
5 profiles can be registered on one device: What’s this? iTunes?
5) HDTV tuner, a PVR and a chess game built-in – HDTV and PVR Tuner: Wouldn’t it make the tablet look bulky and cheap if they put so many dangling peripherals on this one? One thing that I know about Mr. Jobs, is that he won’t take elegance for granted even we are talking about boosting his iGadgets performance.
Chess game built-in: MMkay, so all the while we have amazing Wii like gaming performance on the above statement and now, a chessgame? C’mon, make us dream for more!
6) Back camera and front camera (quote: “you shoot what’s in front of you + yourself. Augmented video conferencing!”) – So we have two cams now? I can’t comment on this one. The whole arrangement of the statement is kind of ‘jigsawed’ in my opinion
7) Wireless keyboard + monitor connection for external monitors – Plausible: One of the dreams of some iPhone users is to have a real physical keyboard for their device. A wireless keyboard (perhaps connected via bluetooth) will be interesting to see.
Network Carriers and Pricing
8) The tablet will be offered by Verizon and AT&T – Yes and Yes: Seeing that the new tablet will be open for Red V (not the robot) is just a godsent for people who is so ‘tired’ of being on that deadlast carrier for 2009.
9) It will cost $599, $699 or $799, depending on the screen size and internal memory – What a predicament! All the while we thought this will be unveiled ranging from 900-1000 USD and then this? I say sweet, although there’s some “IF” which depends mainly on the specs and size of the tablet.
So are we seeing that the new tablet will be unveiled just like other iDevices (small, medium, large?) Possibly yes, Didn’t we heard that there’s a ‘7inch, 10inch, 11inch rumor‘ for this one already?
Mr. Jobs ‘super-line’
“This will be the most important thing I’ve ever done” Referring to the apple tablet.
Although, TC didn’t throw where/when/how they’ve got this statement. This line alone sure gave us some goosebumps and successfully injected me some steroidal-boost to keep my eyes open until the Mr. Jobs finished his statement about the tablet today.
I mean, the iPhone was hailed as the ‘game-changer’ of all smartphones for 2008 and to think that there’ll be another device which is somewhat ‘more important’ than the ‘jesus phone’ is just pretty BOOMBASTIC to see.

It seems engadget, may have yet the first official unconfirmed unicorn tablet pictures from all other techblogs. They even put some patches to the image.. for some undisclosed reasons (perhaps)
Pretty impressive, although engadget is still making you want to hold your horses yet, for this leak might be another fakey. Our take? After seeing this tablet, we’re kind of disappointed if this will be the legendary tablet, we had loong been waiting for several months now.. I mean, c’mon.. I want to feel the intensity here, my men!
Couple hours from the official statement, everything will/might change.. For better, for worst (not the wedding liner) we will keep you guys posted as usual.
