Apple is on it again for its overwhelming anger with Google! But this is not really the rivalry of Steve Jobs and Eric Schmidt or the dismissal of Eric Schmidt as one of the board members of Apple. This all boils down to why does Steve Jobs have so much hate in his heart for Eric Schmidt?
Well in fact it should be Eric who should have all this hatred in his heart after being kicked out of the board member’s seat right? I would have guess that Jobs didn’t see it all of these coming, he was overwhelmed with all the good things happening for Schmidt, Jobs can help but to be bitter inside and out!
If you were Eric Schmidt wouldn’t you feel so damn lucky for getting all the good things in life? Not to mention that he is in fact the CEO of the world’s largest company that has been gathering all the moolah in the world! I must say I wouldn’t really wonder why Jobs is so freaking mad to get under Schmidt skin (though I doubt Schmidt would even allow it).
If you’re thinking that this war is all about the recent lawsuit Apple has filed against HTC’s patent (we all know that Google is the one responsible for its Android Operating System), I would have to say ‘maybe’. Because Jobs is somehow accusing Google for stealing the UI of Apple which again is a big ‘bs’, a proof is this; Mr. Jobs angrily told Google executives that if they deployed a version of multi-touch – the popular iPhone feature that allows users to control their devices with flicks of their fingers – he would sue. Two people briefed on the meeting described it as “fierce” and “heated.”
Now we can all see how an Apple CEO gets mad if he sees that someone or something get in his way when it comes to market sales domination. I really can’t blame Jobs for feeling this way but I would rather go with the strategy of ‘If you can’t beat them JOIN them’. In addition to the ongoing battle is that Eric Schmidt got the XML guru Tim Bray! And if Steve Jobs hates Eric Schmidt, Tim Bray has so much hate for Steve Jobs. The reason is simply because Apple has a very impossible vision of how they want internet to be on their gadgets. This is what Bray has to say – “The iPhone vision of the mobile Internet’s future omits controversy, sex, and freedom, but includes strict limits on who can know what and who can say what. It’s a sterile Disney-fied walled garden surrounded by sharp-toothed lawyers. The people who create the apps serve at the landlord’s pleasure and fear his anger.
“I hate it.”
Despite all these Eric Schmidt chooses to play cool and unaffected! I guess he has more things to do rather than stress himself with unproductive matters.
