We’ve been expecting this day to arrive and for those who are wishing Apple will add Siri to other iOS devices, Apple made a statement earlier today – and sadly – its a ‘no’.
To be more specific, this question was asked by Michael Steeber (a mobile developer) and Apple responded that Siri only works on iPhone 4S and the company has no plans on supporting older devices.

If you’ll analyze the situation, one can’t help but to ask, does Apple deliberately withhold Siri for other iOS devices to force users on buying iPhone 4S? Actually, we have a discussion about this before. And as you can see, big A can’t use that alibi — Siri would only work on high-end iDevices — because if that’s the case, then at least, iPad 2 would be included since the tablet also packs an A5 dual-core CPU and innards almost at par with 4S.
Anyway, as some pundits suggest, never say never! And as we all know, third party developers are still on that quest of trying to make Siri work on non iPhone 4S devices. And the closest one to this reality was that report last week on how a certain hacker manage to fool Apple’s servers tricking it into believing an iPhone 4S was sending a voice-related queries to it, well in fact, it’s another model. However, this hack is still limited and there’s a chance it won’t become available on Cydia.
We keep our fingers crossed.
