You may mistake it for a military toy built by Tony Stark, but trust us it isn’t (it may even bring out the kid in you). Parrot, the Paris-based company has once again introduced its AR Drone 2.0 in this year’s Consumer Electronics Show (CES) event. This flying toy is a spin-off of the AR Drone unveiled two years ago.

The AR Drone 2.0 (AR Drone in general) was designed to be controlled by iOS and Android devices. In order for it to be controlled, it connects to these devices through WiFi. Apart from being sleek and having a more resilient design, it now has a camera capable of shooting 720 pixel videos (lens though is fixed and there’s no flash). It also packs new sensors such as gyroscope, magnetometer and pressure sensor which addresses altitude, orientation and speed respectively. It also has the “travelling” feature wherein user can pre-select direction and duration of flight and once done, the drone operates on the pre-determined factors over and over again.

User needs to have the FreeFlight 2.0 App installed in order to view photos and videos captured by the drone. If you plan to own one, the AR Drone 2.0 retails for $299 and shipping is slated to be in the first half of the year. Watch the video below for more details.
