I’ve got to admit, Archos almost gave me the impression that it was a vaporware Android product when it started to gain some favorable attention last year. When you will try to remember how its series of Archos devices manage to turn-off a lot of enthusiasts, you may perceive it as the end of the company as well.
But for this quarter, it seems Archos is back on its track and so far, its massive Android 2.2 (Froyo) upgrade for all of its tablets starting from 28 up to 101 was kinda impressive considering a lot of companies we do know are having a heck of a delay just to roll out this proper android firmware. As of today, it appears Archos will try and release another Android device but this time, an eReaders and thanks to the insiders who leaks it coming from the inner sanctum of FCC. This unannounced Android eReader with a codename (7702) could be a good sign or a bad omen depending on the mood of Archos company.

So far its specifications is still vague including an 802.11 b/g WiFi support, USB jack, stereo speakers, SD card slot and Adobe Digital Editions support making it compatible with the previously revealed Google eBookstore. Fair enough, this 70b eReader under a 7-inch colored LCD could be one of the average e-reader joes on 2011 – or maybe not. Let’s see how this one goes!
