The Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood is apparently a historical fantasy third-person action-adventure video game that was developed by Ubisoft Montreal for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. This is apparently a sequel of last year’s bilingual masterpiece Assassin’s Creed 2; however, there were also some sort of confusion whether this is really a sequel or a standalone installment in the franchise. There are also some game analysts that think that this is merely a collection of new gameplay ideas that were not realized in time for the release of the Assassin’s Creed 2.
The story started withEzio Auditore da Firenze and Desmond Miles returning as the main protagonists and taking place immediately after the conclusion of the Assassin’s Creed 2. This is actually the first game in the series that will feature a multiplayer mode. As compared with Assassin’s Creed 2, the Assassin’s Creed Brotherhood comes with a different storytelling approach. Some even noticed that it lacks some of the last game’s narrative punch and also lacks a sense of progression.
Just like the previous installment from this game series, the gameplay’s core mechanics are based on parkour movement, crowd-blending stealth, assassinations and melee fighting system. In addition to that, it will also feature some changes in its combat system as well.
In this new game, the players will have the opportunity to customize their appearance, skills and weapon simply by using the skill points that they have earned while playing the game. However, this game is not all about how good you are at fighting since assassinations can be carried out with just a press of a single button. This game is more of how good you are at passing the Turing test. The player will also have to rebuild Rome which has fallen into ruins and will lead you to unlock around 50 characters, perks and items. Brotherhood will also introduce various types horse-related assassinations as well.
This game was heralded by many when it was showcased for the first time. In fact, this game has received an average of 9/10 reviews from all game sites. The multi-player portion of this game was well-received by critics as well. The Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood for PS3 and Xbox 360 was released this November and its Windows version is scheduled for release within the first quarter of 2011.
