Asus, one of the top consumer computer manufacturer and seller has announced and launched its new series of incomparable notebooks, the Asus B Series. The Asus B Series seeks to join HP’s devices in terms of the utilization of Boston-Power’s Sonata batteries. Under the B Series are four models—the B43F, the B43J, the B53F, and B53J.

The B53J is powered by either an Intel Core i5 or i7 processor which either runs at 2.4 GHz or 2.66GHz, correspondingly. It sports a 15.6-inch LCD monitor display with 1,366 by 768 resolution powered by ATI Mobility Radeon 5470 graphics, with a video memory of 512 MB. It is also supported with an ATI Eyefinity technology that could handle up to two separate, external displays. It also features a hard disk memory of 320GB, a built-in DVD drive and a 2 megapixel webcam.
It is also Wi-Fi ready (802.11n) and has Bluetooth connectivity. Interestingly, it also features an incorporated fingerprint reader and an Intel vPro technology which could allow IT experts and departments to maintain and manage the device system at a distance. The B53F, on the other hand, lowers down to Intel GMA HD graphics and does not have Intel vPro.
Models B43J and B43F will follow the same specs. The only difference would be its smaller packaging since it comes in a 14.1-inch display, but it promises to maintain the same pixel resolution as the B53s have.

But this is what the B Series should really be proud of—its battery that is said to have the capability of running at 80% capacity even after three years of continuous usage—the Boston Power’s Sonata.
The Boston-Power’s lithium-ion technology platform offers triple the performance and life of typical notebook batteries. This goes to say that the computer’s productivity shall be increased while decreasing the overall expenditures of ownership and maintenance of the device. Because of this, Asus is confident of giving a three-year warranty for the batteries which matches with the three-year warranty of the notebook itself.
The B53s are already out in selected retailers at a starting price of approximately $1,099. The B43s’ release on the other hand is yet to be announced. With such high-end specs and a battery that guarantees long life, spending such for an equally high-end notebook shall be worth every penny.
