ASUS brings a new E-Book reader
You heard me right! Asus will be bringing an E-book reader but this is not the most anticipated DR-570 (the 1st colored e-book reader unless somebody launches something like it before Asus does) though it resembles DR-570 the only difference is the screen is bigger and it’s not colored.
Introducing Asus DR-950 a 9 inch E-Reader that will flaunt 16 shades of gray and text-to-speech in 26 languages, I think this is Asus way of reaching out to a more consumers since most text-to-speech enabled (first generation) e-readers are just available in English.
The Asus DR-950 will be available sooner than the rumored DR-570 but to when it will be available we don’t have any concrete details about it and though this is the case we have something to compensate the fact that we lack some important details. Here are a few picture and of DR-950
The picture doesn’t bring to much justice to the real physique of DR-950 so let me just narrate the specifications of this device.
DR-950 is as thin as a post-it pad measuring 9mm thick and pretty light too at 370 grams, so wouldn’t settle for an e-reader knowing that this is what you will be carrying every time you need a dose of reading? The 9 inch screen gives you a better view and more text on the page unlike a book that needs flipping of pages from one page to the other.
This E-reader can store up to 3,000 plus titles/book given that you choose the 2GB option for the memory (4GB is also available that double the data you can store) Asus DR-950 will also support files such as PDF and TXT, add more to that you also get audible, ePub, mp3, HTML, GIF, JPEG, BMP and PNG. Now that is a lot for an e-reader right? And since this will support text-to-speech you also get a 3.5mm headphone jack to listen to an audio instead of reading. This device will be powered by Wi-Fi and HSDPA so you can get your daily dose of gazette (just in case you have a subscription). That’s all for now folks but do expect updates on this one once we get hold of when DR-950 will be released.
