The device has 2 GB of DDR2 667 RAM which can be further expanded to 4GB. It is further equipped with 250 GB capacity HDD, built in DVD burner, 6x USB 2.0 (2 on the front and 4 at the back of the device), multi card reader, VGA output, 802.11 b/g/n Wi-Fi, Gigabit Ethernet and a HDMI port as well. It is among the “World’s Smallest” net-tops and is first VESA-mountable PC being featured with an internal optical drive. The ASUS Eee Box has Nvidia Ion graphics with CUDA support. While the video was running, the processor usage rating was just 14% which further demonstrates the quick graphic capability of the device due to its Ion graphics feature.

The device uses an 1.6GHz Intel Dual core N330 Processor with the operating system as Windows 7 Home Premium. It is rich in connectivity with e-SATA and the already mentioned USBs. The device is very power efficient and a perfect way to save energy through the maximum power consumption of 65w. The compact size (weighs 1.2Kg) further adds to the uniqueness of the model.

The device distinguishes itself from its earlier versions in 3 ways:

  • NVIDIA Ion chipset
  • Intel Atom N330 dual-core processor
  • Operating System

The device comes in a bundle with remote control, an attractive stand, an IR adapter and a mini jack to S/PDIF adapter. If one opts to save the desk space, it also has an option to do the VESA mount with an optical HDMI-DVI adapter. Some of them even have HDMI cable. The card reader is also available in-built.
