Asus Eee Pad Slider: Specs Upgrade W/ Intel Z670 Before Release

Posted on 19 April 2011 by pinoytutorial

Last month saw the first official news that Intel is almost finished working up with its new Oak Trail based Z670 CPU, to power its next-generation tablet PCs this year, based on a dual-core Cortex A9 architecture. Well, last week, Intel really made an impression on the blogosphere as it publicly reveals its first batch of Atom Z670 devices. And along with the 35 products showcased on its website, the thing that catches the eyes of some experts is why Asus Eee Pad Slider was included on the list?

Check out the screenshot.

For those who are unaware, the Asus Slider device is one of the outstanding Android tablets showcased during this year’s CES event, running with Nvidia Tegra 2 dual-core CPU.

As of the moment, Intel didn’t made any comment for this, and it appears everything was just a mistake of putting the Eee Pad Slider instead of the Samsung Sliding PC (which looks similar at first glance). As a proof, the company has already removed the page, and some pundits have been informed that Asus “may” produce two types of Eee Pad Slider models: One that uses an Atom Z670 CPU w/ Windows 7 OS and the original dual-core Tegra 2 series that runs Android.

Expected release date for the Tegra 2 model landing this May.
