There is news of an emerging new pc from Asus. In its desire to share to the world that it has won the coveted 2010 Red Dot design award, Asus has intentionally announced the release of the Asus Eee Pc 1218, the laptop that received such award. If in case you’re wondering why this model won it, read on and discover why.
The Asus Eee Pc 1218 is a beauty. Its sleek and slim design is complemented by the one-piece aluminum shell which sort of reminds you of MacBook Air, yet provides s good number of extension ports located at the back. This was done by arranging the interior of the laptop in a way that allowed all the ports to be strategically placed at the back for easier access.
This laptop has a 12.1 inch display and once it is opened, it has a one-piece aluminum palm-rest, a ‘chiclet’ keyboard and surround. There is also a webcam but it has a sliding cover to ensure privacy. This means nobody can view you or take pictures or record a video remotely. This is one good feature of the Eee Pc 1218, it ensures your privacy.
Along with the multiple ports placed at the back, this laptop also has VGA, HDMI, three USB ports, Ethernet, headphone out, microphone in, and power supply. There’s also another port that suggests GPU for HD video playback. To end this long line of features, I have to make mention that the Asus Eee PC 1218 has a soft-touch plastic underside, for all of you who are a bit clumsy, always prone to spilling coffee or for those who have buttery fingers.
There are still no updates on the other features and specs about the Eee PC 1218, but here’s what we know, it has an amazingly cool aluminum casing that’s available in black and silver. What could be more modern than that? Unfortunately, there is not enough information that has been released, but just by the specs leaked out; I can conclude this laptop will be one of those models that will sell like hotcakes. There’s still no word on when it will be released and the price as well.
