Great news for those who are hunting for some budget-friendly netbooks! That’s because Asus has confirmed that its new Eee PC X101 will finally be making its most-awaited debut.

It was on the 2011 Computex that Asus has officially unveiled its Eee PC X101. It was showcased in an ultra slim case along with a sleek and stylish design. Back then, reports have already been showing hints regarding the notebook’s upcoming launch.
Now, it has been officially confirmed that the Asus Eee PC X101 will be released next month (July 2011). It will be sold in two versions. The first will be running on Meego while the other will be running on the Windows 7 OS. Apart from this, reports have also told that the notebook will be loaded with a 1.33 GHz of single-core Intel Atom Oak Trail processor. The said 10 incher will also be packed with an SSD drive and a 6-cell battery. It will sport a 1024 x 600 of screen resolution.
As for those who are planning to get one, the Windows 7 model will be sold around $310 to $350 while the Meego model will be sold at a very pocket-friendly price of $199.99. The competition for these types of netbooks will eventually be heightened as Lenovo, Acer and Samsung are also planning to release their own Meego-based netbook brands.
