When Asus officially announced its compact media player O!Play HD2 last October 25, many of us really got curious. That is why today were bringing up the specs and features of a similar but more compact version aka the Asus O!Play Mini!

O!Play Mini is a very light media device. Weighing only 175 grams, the compact-styled mini media player is capable of playing and streaming almost all types of media formats. It supports MP3, WAV, AAC, OGG, MP4, MOV, WMV, FLV, MPEG1, VC-1, JPEG, BMP, PNG, and a whole lot more!
The device is also capable of playing high definition media in an HD screen display of 1080p. That’s totally bringing in the fun and excitement of the big screen right in the comfort of your home. Aside from this, the device features an intelligent subtitling capability thanks to its RightTxT subtitles. With this feature, you can enjoy watching foreign shows and movies anytime you want!
Other features of the ASUS O!Play Mini include:
- 4-in-1 card reader which supports SD, MMC, MS, and xD formats
- Dolby TrueHD 7.1
- USB 2.0 port
The price and date for the elegant and smoothly-styled mini media player is not yet announced. But considering that the HD2 costs around $129.99, we are hoping that the mini device could cost around $100 or so.
