Being the first company (so far) to ever release an Ice Cream Sandwich tablet this year on United States – not to mention the first real tablet we know to be infused by Tegra 3, enthusiasts are expecting Asus will be able to continue its leading edge for other devices.

Well, what do you know? Coming fresh from engadget’s mobile podcast, Nicole Scott from netbooknews.com revealed Asus Padfone will finaly be unveiled on Mobile World Congress 2012 in February. And since the device got a little entangled on its supposed release this year, the insider also stated it will be powered by Nvidia Tegra 3 quad-core CPU – the same processor used for Android’s current finest tablet, Asus Transformer Prime.
For those who are unaware, Padfone is another hybrid invention from the Asian company as it showcase two device under a single unit, that is, a phone built-in within a tablet. If you’ll check our previous report, you can see how it looks like when it pops out, letting you use its smartphone latched on the tablet. At that time, pundits are fearing its price might ballooned up since it’s like you’re buying two hardware pieces on a single device. However, it appears things may go on a brighter side especially after seeing Transformer Prime have its entry level price at $499 which is pretty affordable knowing it’s the only tablet blessed by Tegra 3 this year.
We’ll see about that in the coming months!
