Before the Ultrathin Asus UX21, we have its equally appealing brother, the U36 notebook along with its razor-sharp chassis of 19mm still hailed by Asus as the world’s thinnest laptop.
When we report it last December, this sexyback felt a little shy to land on UK, bringing its full attention on USA for quite sometime. Well, after over six months of wait, the U36 notebook has officially been announced today ready to be picked up at Micro Anvika or your favorite UK-based retailers for a price of 699 pounds including VAT.

Just to give you a quick wrap-up of its specifications, it runs the same Core i5 processor, under its 13.3-inch superthin form-factor that weighs for only 1.44KG. It packs with an NVIDIA type of video-card with Optimus technology to conserve its battery more efficiently, projected on its High-Definition TFT display expanding to 1366 x 768 resolution. Other goodies include, 500GB storage, USB 3.0 with “Super Hybrid Engine” feature, WiFi / Bluetooth support and the company’s promise that it can last up to 11.5 hours, making it at par with those Macbooks around.
Come to think of it, this laptop along with the UX21 makes them a perfect contender for the present Macbook Pros and Macbook Airs this year, especially if you’re that guy who’s a little bit tight on the budget and doesn’t eat Apple pie all the time – you know what I’m saying?
