If you think Macbooks are still the only available laptops going inside with the category of the “thinnest notebooks”, you should know this year has provided us with several alternatives from Dell and Samsung. As of today, we got another contender from Asus as it unleashes the UX21 laptop.
To be more specific, the Asus UX21 laptop, comes with a razor-thin width of 17mm only (yes, it can slice a cake effortlessly); a form-factor made out of solid aluminum, and this one weights for 2.4 pounds.
While the company didn’t manage to mention its full specifications, our pundits manage to get hold of it and stated that it’ll be using an Intel Core i7 CPU, SATA III SSD for the fastest data-transferring on its storage, USB 3.0 ports; and Asus touts the laptop can resume for two-second under a full “sleep” mode. Meanwhile, you can also notice that its trackpad is made from glass and the keys aren’t made from plastic or rubber but rather, metal!

Naturally, it would be very hard to believe it’ll have a built-in optical drive, but an external DVD-drive via USB could always come as an alternative. Interestingly, since it’s Asus we’re talking about, we do hope its price would be cheaper among the “ultra-thin laptop” category available in the market today. Expect its cost and release date to be available on September.
