You may have heard Asus’ first MeeGo netbook last May revealing an interesting set of features with super affordable price for two benjamins only.
As of today, the company has officially announced the device and as predicted, it’s still the same netbook with a 10.1-inch LED WSVGA display with 1024 x 600 resolution running an Intel Atom N435/N455 Processor. Its RAM is set to 2GB DDR3, 8GB SSD for its storage along with 2GB cloud storage via DropBox. Other goodies include a 0.3MP camera, 2 X USB 2.0 ports, stereo speakers, 1 x card reader that can be used as SD, SDHC or MMC Port and the company states its battery can last up to four hours.
Now, for those who feel alienated to Intel’s MeeGo OS, Asus decides to create a twin version of the netbook called as X101H running Windows 7 which will be a bit pricier than its sibling.

Going back to the Asus Eee PC X101, the whole netbook weighs for only 920 grams and 17.6mm thinness. Just like Chrome netbooks, MeeGo offers several social-media apps that you can access on the fly since the device is always connected wirelessly along with its cloud-based computing service. It also comes preloaded with British Council English Language Learning app to help non-english users read and speak more fluently using the international language.
Release date still pending to be revealed this year.
