Gaming enthusiasts must be really excited about the upcoming sequel of the very popular action adventure video game Batman: Arkham Asylum and that will be called Batman: Arkham City. Apparently, this game was announced back in August and is slated for release in the autumn of 2011. However, there were some websites that suggested that this upcoming game would be released by “Fall 2011.” This game is being developed by Rocksteady Studios and published by Warner Bros as well as DC Comics.
Basically, the Arkham City is also an action-oriented video game just like its successor. The story of this upcoming game takes place one year after the events that happened in Arkham Asylum. In mainly focuses on the character of Quincy Sharp and his creation of the so-called Arkham City and how Batman will be able to handle the situation and protect Gotham City.
This game mainly integrates the elements of stealth as well as predator tactics. Most of the gadgets available in the first version of this game will likewise be present and to make the game more exciting it will also come up with two additional gadgets as well. These two new gadgets are smoke bombs that Batman can use and sneak away in confusion and a broadcast tracer device that has the ability to locate signals as well as track them to their sources.
In addition to these features, the Batman: Arkham City video game will also have more puzzle elements, and an access to a criminal database that has the ability to locate the major villains across the city within the Detective Mode and the forensic puzzles. According to Rocksteady’ s art director named David Hugo, the use of the Detective mode will basically change the game to an augmented reality mode thus, creating a more exciting and realistic game.
A teaser trailer of this upcoming game was also released lately showing a battered Joker who is still recovering from his wounds in the first game (see video below). And according to Batman voice actor Kevin Conroy, this sequel is “really, really dark”. Well, it seems that the Batman: Arkham City will be more exciting and action-packed than the first version. So better watch out for it to see what Conroy is actually talking about.
