Big Fish Games made some noise when it announced that it will be the first company to offer games by subscription through Apple’s App Store. And just recently, Big Fish Games is making some headlines again because it has been removed from the Apple App store without any explanation or whatsoever. Because of this incident, a lot of people have been asking various questions and wanted to know why this game subscription service was removed from the Apple App store after a few days of approving it. What happened to Big Fish Games? Was it removed or banned by Apple?

It is not really clear why Apple decided to pull out the game from its App store and whether this is only temporary or not. Apple commentator Jon Gruber thinks that the said app might have been approved accidentally without considering the fact that it might have some violations on the App store’s guidelines. According to Big Fish Games, they work collaboratively with Apple in discussing the details of this app for quite some time and that it has met all the requirements required by Apple and has also undergone a review process before getting the approval.
Furthermore, Big Fish Games spokesperson added that Apple wanted to verify some more whether the service that they are offering really promises to provide good customer experience or not and if its monthly recurring charge is reasonable or not as well.
The app called Play Instantly allows subscribers out there to play games on their iPad through Wi-Fi connectivity for a fee of $ 6.99 a month. This is not only the first game subscription service offered in the App store, but also the first cloud-based app as well. As of present, most of the apps offered via the Apple App store have only been available for a one-time purchase and download. So we’ll never know whether the Big Fish Games app will be able to come back to the App store or not.
So what can you say about this incident? Do you think Apple will allow this new app back on its App store again? Let us just wait for more updates.
