Research in Motion (RIM) is the company behind the award-winning BlackBerry phones.

It’s in fact undeniable that BlackBerry handsets are among the best-in-class smartphones. Aside from this, BlackBerry plays a very important role in mobile e-mail messaging. That is why were truly hoping to see more innovative products from RIM.
Well, it seems that our hopes are not wasted.
FCC (Federal Communications Commission) has recently revealed an unannounced BlackBerry handset, the BlackBerry Curve 8980. The said smartphone is also basically similar to the famous BlackBerry 8900. And it appears that it’s going to be on quad-band GSM/EDGE too. Furthermore, FCC documents shows that the unannounced phone will have Bluetooth, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, full QWERTY keyboard, 3.2 MP camera with flash, 3.5mm headset jack, and an optical trackpad.
It has also been confirmed to run on BlackBerry OS 5. We’re also anticipating some high resolution display. However, there’s still no official announcement from RIM. So we can’t really tell how much this Curve 8980 will cost. There’s no news about its official press release either. But considering the specs of this phone, we just hope that by the time it’s launched it can still compete with the ever evolving smartphone market.
Come to think of it, tough competitors are just waiting ahead.
