To all BlackBerry addicts who are so in-tuned with the Blackberry’s web browsing service, there’s a bit of good news as leaked information has pointed to the release of the Blackberry 4.1 internet service.

So what’s this fuss created by BlackBerry’s newest internet service? Well, it brings into the table a lot of improvements actually (thank goodness!). Users would be able to receive messages up to 11 megabytes in size and in turn, mail attachments have been increased to about eight (8) megabytes. Also, some security measures where enhanced a bit (e.g. security wipe email control which prevents misdirected email from occurring) and they’ve added an interesting new feature called inbox priming.
Inbox what? Don’t let the jargon scare the hell out of your vocabulary as inbox priming simply means that the first 20 messages of a newly added email account in the BIS will be downloaded “immediately” thus providing user or users the assurance that their email has been set up and working properly (in the past, when email addresses were added on the BB, only new emails are received when setup completes).
This is truly a BB upgrade. Expect the Blackberry Internet Service 4.1 to be available by September 10 in the different countries while it hits US by October 8th.
