Blackberry P’9981 Porsche Designed Smartphone: Price and Release Date For T-Mobile

Unlike Android or iOS were we constantly heard reports about designers creating its luxury versions, the case is different with Blackberry. And you can see our astonishment when we heard last September that a Porsche-designed BB handset is already in development.

As of today, the Blackberry P’9981 is now revealed and as expected, its form-factor will be purely made from steel in which you can notice from the picture that it’s noticeably thin whereas its sexy-back will be covered with leather case to protect it from user’s greasy fingers. Since the device is based from Porsche’s aesthetics, its OS’s User Interface was also tweaked to exude its beauty including a bespoke Wikitude World Browser which is an augmented-reality application. Other goodies also include an exclusive PIN to help you locate other P’9981 users.

Interestingly, the device is not just about the looks but it also offers a set of high-end specifications comparable with Blackberry’s latest smartphones. This one sports a 1.2GHz CPU, 720p video recording support, 8GB internal memory with expandable microSD card up to “40GB”. Will run the latest Blackberry 7 OS that includes next-gen BB Browser, Liquid Graphics technology which works seamlessly with its Porsche Design UI. The device also include NFC to make the phone compatible for future mobile-wallet services.

While its exact release date remains concealed, its price is expected to hit two grand and it’ll be available under T-Mobile network later this year.
