Here’s something from Canon you could add to your fleet of digital wonders. Canon has impressed us with its new High Sensitivity (HS) camera series and for sure, the Canon Powershot ELPH 100 HS is among them.

The Powershot 100 HS is certainly your best friend when it comes to taking still images and high quality video movies. It packs a 12.1 backside illuminated CMOS sensor together with Canon’s very own DIGIC 4 image processor to create crisp and vivid shots each and every time. It has a 3 inch 320 x 240 resolution display screen that provides huge viewing space for your photos and videos. Other features include: 4x optical zoom lens, aperture range of f/2.8 – f/5.9, optical image stabilization system and has a 4-mode flash strobe.
The ELPH 100 HS can record full HD video (1080p) at 24 fps and 720p at 30fps. HD movies are stored using H.264 compression in .MOV format. Users can conveniently store multimedia files using SD, SDHC and SDXC cards. The camera also has a HDMI , USB 2.0 and NTSC/PAL connectivity. Finally it uses a lithium-ion rechargeable battery which is good for 230 shots.
The only issue we discovered at Powershot 100 HS was the lack of optical or electronic viewfinder. Other than that, we can say that it’s a handy point-and-shoot camera you can use anywhere at anytime. The Canon Powershot ELPH 100 HS will be available in North America by next month at a base price of $200.
