With the release of the new app, speculations have been answered since the main goal of Facebook was actually to let users share their recently taken photos conveniently and also learn about the current activities of their friends. They knew that Instagram was already doing what they wanted to do so they bought the latter in order to build a support system. On the other hand, Dirk Stoop, Facebook’s product manager, said that the product was under progress even before they bought their rival company.

Facebook Camera is better than the primary app of the company since it lets you upload and posts many photos at once. You can fool around with your pictures with the filters, the crop and rotate functions. Photos of all your friends can be seen from one scrolling feed. Another feature it has it that you can tag any of your friends, add some captions and tell them where you are. To top it all off, you can see your friends pictures even if they are using a different app.

Down 8.5% since Nasdaq offered it at $38 apiece (now @ $31), FB shares are hurting more than young billionaire Mark Zuckerberg or the horde of millionaire wanna-bes that grabbed a slice of this virtual money machine.

Across a wider spectrum, this plummet of stock shares are engendering cascades of repercussions. One particular entity that could be hurt a lot by this drop is the state of California herself. According to reports, expected tax generated by the sales of FB stock which could go as high as $1.9 billion could throw budget estimates off the mark.

Reasons for the negative changes are plenty but with the absence of an official statement from FB HQ, these remain just fodders for rumor-mongers and analysts. Could it be the delay caused by Nasdaq glitches? Some would point to that but Nasdaq bigwigs are quick to deny these connections. It could be due to a whole lot of reasons ranging from forecast discrepancies to legal battles looming in the background amid the IPO launch.

Still, a lot pray that this is not a continuous plummet and that it could rebound at anytime (for sure, they are also doing it with their fingers crossed) and it still could. As they say, the game is still not far off from the opening bell and a lot can still happen.

This will push the Facebook IPO upward yet again to $18.4 Billion making Mark Zuckerberg and lots of lucky shareholders a couple of billions richer. This is history in the making although many are not too keen on the hype surrounding the IPO. However, one cannot deny the fact that this is second only to Visa’s IPO and the highest ever in its own category.

For sure, the stock market will run abuzz come Friday when trading on FB shares start. Nasdaq will be having these shares under the symbol “FB”. Before the closing on May 22, war will surely be waged in grabbing these premium shares that has already gave FB a valuation of a staggering $104 Billion.

While Facebook itself will be selling “just” 180 million shares, 241,233,615 shares will be sold by stockholders. So yeah, it might just be that this news is being given too much hype since not all will greatly benefit from it but those that are lucky enough to own a large share will be walking away billionaires themselves tomorrow.

Before the ‘opening bell’ at 11 am ET tomorrow, FB CEO Zuckerberg will likely to deliver a speech to herald another Facebook triumph.

On the other hand, despite the app being seemingly alike with Apple’s and Google’s, it does not actually have the hub for the downloading system but rather, users are referred to other app stores in order for them to download any apps. Currently, game developers are required to use Facebook itself in order to sell their products and access the site’s user database which makes life easier for developers since their potential consumers are already at arms reach.

The new set-up will not only be beneficial to the games developer because they still turn out a profit from all the free-gamers they have. The forthcoming Facebook App Center will allow the social networking site to actually amass a fortune from 30% cuts between user-game developer transactions.

Reportedly, the general council office of the FBI has made a draft of the intended law which necessitates social networking sites, providers of email and instant messaging, and VoIP to change their services by adding a code that would enable them to be “wiretap ready.” Such requirement of adding the FBI’s code will work only if a threshold of a particular number of subscribers is surpassed.

If the proposed law is signed, it would amend the 1994 CALEA (Communications Assistance for Law Enforcement Act). At present, the act applies only to telecommunications service providers and not the Web service companies. The CALEA was extended in 2004 by The Federal Communications Commission resulting to an inclusion of broadband networks.

There are documents in Congress which have been disclosed and have revealed how some huge companies are lobbying on the backdoor unlocking topic. Apple’s iChat and FaceTime-enabled iOS devices and Microsoft’s Skype and Hotmail are both open to suggestions and changes. To build up the anticipation, starting May 7, Facebook will be launching a roadshow, which is a series of meetings with some potential investors. This is to make more people interested in buying some of the stock once May 18 rolls around and as a testament to just how important the roadshow is for his company’s future, founder and CEO Mark Zuckerberg himself will be presented for some of these meetings.

Facebook filed for an IPO back in February 1, 2012, and detailed quite a lot of things about the company’s financial status, such as the salaries of Zuckerberg and his executives, its profit during 2011 and how many active users it has, which was 845 million at last count. In addition, it has a goal, and that is apparently to raise $5 billion on its opening, which would give the company a value of $100 billion- that trumps Google’s own valuation of $23 billion by four times during its own IPO back in 2004. It’s a huge and ambitious goal, but the social networking platform isn’t known for being modest.

Currently, Facebook is looking good as a potential investment considering how popular it is, but it’s best not to make hasty decisions. At least the roadshow will be held, so potential investors can actually see where their money will be headed should they make a decision to stick with Facebook.

According to reports, he posted a photo on Facebook which he thought was very funny. There was a gas can in the photo, a siphon hose, and a police car. He was holding the siphon hose which was stuck into the car and made it look like he was stealing gas. To make matters worse, his middle finger was raised in an obscene gesture.

The photo spread like wildfire and immediately caught the police’ attention. Baker was sent to jail for theft charges and had one night to contemplate on his actions. Surprisingly, being sorry for what he did is not among them.

This native from Jenkins, Kentucky admitted that he actually got a little bit of gas. He even tried to get some more but there wasn’t enough gas in the tank. As if he wasn’t aware that he’s already committing a crime of stealing, he asked his girlfriend to take a picture. The picture itself is a strong evidence but posting it on Facebook is a gigantic mistake.

Though his girlfriend made an apology and said that everything was just a joke, the 20-year old Baker was not sorry at all for what he did. After deleting the photo on Facebook, he made a comment expressing how he wished his friends have seen it because it was really funny.

Naturally, the police didn’t think it was funny. They say if Baker would steal from the police, he can do the same thing to anybody’s car. To discourage future acts of car gas stealing, they plan to buy new gas caps which are lockable or should we say “un-Baker-ble.”

Despite the number of popular games Zynga has released, whether on Facebook or other platforms, it seems like the developer hasn’t forgotten its first huge success in the world of games. A curriculum vitae for copywriter Alex Harvey was spotted by game tweeter Superannuation on the website cargocollective.com, and claims that a pitch for FarmVille 2 to Zynga was successful. Going by the work history in Harvey’s CV, the pitch would most likely have been made between January of 2011 and February of this year. Should this be true, then FarmVille 2 would have been in development for a while and can be released any time.

Of course, the resume had been taken down since Superannuation’s tweet, but this is enough to get people speculating on whether or not a sequel to the farm-based social networking game will indeed be arriving. However, it wouldn’t be too unusual for Zynga to release a sequel to one of its games. After all, one game recently saw a sequel of its own, the gangster-themed Mafia Wars 2, another Facebook title.

It’s been established that a sequel isn’t a huge problem for the game developer, but getting Facebook users and other gamers to get excited will be. Even now the comments on various news and gaming blogs are showing how divided the community is on whether or not FarmVille 2 will be a big hit. However, several gamers do agree on one thing- that there are more interesting ventures to be had than seeing a developer clone its own game and then market it as a sequel, especially when the game has you do nothing but watch virtual crops grow and animals breed.

With this, it seems like FarmVille has lost its shine, because people are looking elsewhere to entertain themselves. It may be a good thing that its sequel is only a rumor and an unconfirmed one at that.

Both Pinterest and Springpad rely a lot on images to show various notebooks and items then create a visually stunning representation of everything. Springpad does more by adding heaps of contextual-based information thereby earning the reputation of being a tool for a more social and sophisticated collaboration.

Pinterest is pinned on inspiration and probably a future transaction. But it lacks collaboration. Springpad, seeing there’s a lot more potential in inspiring and driving people to online retailers, has advertisers that are more than willing to tailor specific items which give the experience a collaborative approach. It acts like a personal digital assistant, one who understands what you want and reminds you about it without sounding pushy or like a broken record. Check it out.
