These new cameras have held on to a number of features that were evident in the first line of Optio WG cameras, such as LED lights situated around the camera’s lens. Recording time is 30 and 20 minutes for 30 FPS and 24 FPS respectively. There’s a built-in flash which is partnered with Commander Mode while being CLS compatible. Moreover, there’s a pair of card slots for CF and SD. There’s no GPS while connectivity is through USB 3.0.

Those eyeing of owning must save a lot of Benjamins as the Nikon D800 will retail for about $3,999. Nikon will be unveiling said DSLR by February 7 and so we can expect the more nitty-gritty details (including availability) on this one hell of a DSLR. Stay tuned.

Images clearly states that the camera is indeed retro inspired although the contemporary battery grip and a secondary shutter button gives the new Four Thirds snapper from Olympus a fresh modern twist. Other than that, it embraces the whole idea of having that old school feel every time an image is snapped. What’s more interesting that Olympus or some unknown soul gave it an extended battery pack and an added button giving it twice its advantage, in some point or another.

Aside from the added peripherals, the specifications remain intact and the camera will still sport a 16.1megapixel EDR CMOS with an ISO range of up to 25,600, a 5-axis image stabilization, enhanced autofocus alongside a 9fps burst mode. An Amazon list however inks that it’ll also house a 1.44megapixel electronic viewfinder, a tiltable OLED display and should weigh at around 454grams with an attached lens kit.

With nothing of concrete information, the OM-D camera should be announced by February 8th. Stay tuned.

Worked on by Marc Newson, world-renowned industrial designer, Pentax says the camera has the world’s thinnest interchangeable lens dubbed the PENTAX-DA 40mm F2.8 XS. Along with the body of the mirrorless camera itself, the company aims to make high-end design and technology meet for all the perfectionist photographers. For those with their own K-series camera lens no matter the age, the camera is still able to make use of them, but compared to the extremely thin F2.8 XS, they would look rather bulky and heavy on the K-01. However, the camera itself is chunky on its own, which would be why the lens is so thin.

The Pentax K-01 doesn’t scrimp on the quality either, despite how interesting it looks. It has a 16MP CMOS shooter that can get up to 6 frames per second in burst mode, a 3-inch 920,000dpi LCD and video capture of up to 1080p with 30, 25 and 24fps or 720p at 60fps options available. If you’re worried about your shaky hands ruining the image, Pentax also added in its own PENTAX Shake and Dust Reduction feature to prevent any sort of blur while pointing and shooting.

If you don’t like the color yellow, the camera also comes in either black or white, and its strap and packaging were made by Newson as well. B&H is already taking pre-orders, and the camera will start shipping in March at $749.99, but unfortunately without the 40mm lens. The lens will be available separately for $249.99, but ship at the same time.

First among the new line of Coolpix is L810. This digital camera is on top of the line-up because of its powerful long zoom (26x), a feature that continues the Nikon tradition on superior zooming capabilities. L810 can make blurs go away in both photos and videos, via its super wide 22.5mm angle lens with VR image stabilization technology. It also has mode, called Sports Continuous Shooting mode, to enable the camera take pictures of fast moving objects or in moving situations. The video capture capability of the L810 features 720p HD with stereo sound. For creative touches on pictures, L810 has 19 scene modes on its camera setting and a 3-inch, 921,000-dot high resolution LCD display.

The Nikon L26 is intended for casual and novice photographers. To assist the inexperienced photographer, the camera features an intelligent automatic Scene Modes, vibration reduction and Smart Portrait technology. It has a 5x (26mm-130mm) optical Zoom-NIKKOR lens for distant shots and can capture 720p HD video. Its 3-inch LCD screen is ideal for photo viewing and edit in case the beginner is not satisfied with his initial shots.

The Coolpix S30 is the most durable camera in the new line-up, with its shockproof (up to 2.6 feet) and waterproof *(up to 9.8 feet) body. The camera can take beautiful pictures for up to 10.1 megapixel and high quality videos through its HD video capabilities. S30 also has a 3x wide angle zoom lens, friendly modes for photo shoot, such as the Smart Portrait System.

The new cameras will be available in February 2012 with a price of $279.95 for the L810, $119.95 for the S30 and $119.95 for the L26. All cameras will come in a variety of colors for buyers to choose from.

The Coolpix P510 is said to have “shattered” the zoom barrier of cameras today with its 42x Wide-Angle NIKKOR glass zoom lens. The lens can range 24mm to 1,000mm and comes with advanced optical Vibration Reduction (VR) image stabilization for clearer pictures. Low-light conditions are not a problem with the P510 with its 16.1-megapixel BSI CMOS sensor. This new camera can also capture five pictures in a second without sacrificing its resolution, through its CMOS sensor and fast autofocus (AF). Non-related, yet important camera features for the P510 are its built-in GPS function, and geotag photos. For its video shooting options, the P510 can record a full HD video at 1080p with stereo sound. It also has a 3-inch high resolution (921,000-dot) vari-angle monitor for reviewing photos and videos.

What the P310 offers is its capability to produce high-quality photos at low light settings. This is made possible using the camera’s 16.1-megapixel BSI CMOS sensor and ISO range up to 3200 (Hi1 6400 equivalent). Further, P310 eliminates blur issues on photos through its optical VR image stabilization. The new camera has three useful modes for superior pictures, which are: the Night Landscape mode, Advanced Night Portrait mode, and the Backlight/High Dynamic Range (HDR) mode. P310 also promises D-SLR functionalities, such as Zoom Memory and manual exposure control (P/S/A/M). For creative edits can be made in the camera by using its 3-inch high resolution (921,000-dot) LCD screen and the camera’s special and filter effects. Finally, P310 can capture Full HD (1080p) video at 30 frames-per-second (fps). The video shoot will include AF, stereo sound and optical zoom while recording.

Coolpix P510 is priced at $429.95 in black and red, while the Coolpix P310 is offered at $329.95 but in black only. Both cameras will be released this February 2012.

Map data can be installed via the bundled DVD that comes with the Lumix ZS20. For a more advanced approach in photography, Panasonic also gave the ZS20 an Intelligent Auto mode or iA that automatically activates a wide array of technologies for photo enhancement. The HDR, or the High Dynamic Range, together with the help of the POWER I.O.S with active mode negates blur due to shaking and fast moving objects.

Imagine all these and more in a compact digital camera. Panasonic has come a long way to provide us with the best and unique photography experience that is even set to be better in the years to come.
