First of the two most notable Asus gadgets is the Zenbook UX32VD, a 13.3-inch ultrabook that takes it origins from the UX31 model that was released last year. However, it’s a completely different model from the other line and is far more powerful with the ability to carry one of Intel’s upcoming Ivy Bridge family of processors, namely the i3-3217U, i5-317U and the i7-3517U, but it also has the option for a second-gen chip as well. It also has a hybrid disk drive with 500GB for the HDD and 24GB for the SSD side, with an option for a pure solid state drive which has 256GB. Of course, getting the hybrid drive is more ideal, as it has the space only an HDD can give with the quick booting time and performance that the SSD is known for.

Aside from the drive and CPU, the UX32Vd has jaws dropping and people ready fish their wallets out of their pockets because of the graphics capabilities it brings. There used to be only one ultrabook with a discrete graphics chip on the market, but with the UX32Vd’s 1GB NVIDIA GeForce GT620M GPU, people now have another option if they want some power in their ultrabooks, especially something that makes good use of the HD 1920 x 1080px screen.

The other Asus offering is the Zenbook UX32A, which is pretty similar in many ways to its higher-end brother, but instead of NVIDIA-powered graphics, it only has Intel’s integrated GMA HD 4000. Still, it’s just as notable and comes at a far cheaper price starting at $800, while the UX32Vd will cost about $1,000, both of which are impressively low for ultrabooks. Of course, both laptops can still be customized, and the prices will change depending on certain choices.

The exact date of release for both laptops is still unknown, but since Intel wont be releasing the Ivy Bridge series for a while, Asus will be shipping them with Sandy Bridge processors for now.

It supports a BDXL format which lets anyone burn triple (100 gb) or quadruple (128GB) layer discs. It also promises the best data writing capability for anyone planning to backup personal data. The product provides anyone with a chance for quality entertainment with its Blu-ray 3D support. It also features to capability of converting 2D DVDs into 3D with its Magic Cinema technology. Not only that, the product also has a capability of a DVD upscaling to HD 1080p.

The Zenbook UX32VD is a 13.3-inch ultrabook that comes with discrete graphics. Given the serious competition today, this ultrabook sports a serious processor and it takes the form of Intel’s Ivy Bridge CPU line (i3-3217U, i5-3317U or i7-3517U). Its superb processor was partnered with graphics that adds more power and this is the 1GB Nvidia GeForce GT620M. Though considered by some as an entry-level solution, the graphics should be able to bear the requisites of today’s gaming at a resolution of 1366×768 pixels.

Apparently, Asus may be offering an UX32VD unit that comes with a 1080p IPS panel. This clearly implies that the ultrabook may serve in handy when gaming at native resolution is the topic. There is also a robust hard disk drive (HDD) with a capacity of 500GB and there is the 24GB of flash cache. Of course having HDD is a bit of a sacrifice as the ultrabook will be a little bit thicker.

Singapore will get a taste of the Zenbook UX32VD in the coming weeks. As for its international availability, there are no details at the moment. Pricing is said to be in the range of $800 – $1,100.

In addition, the Asus G55VW can be connected with many devices, as it contains a Thunderbolt port, HDMI, USB 2.0 and 3.0 ports. If capturing images and footage is your thing, you can definitely do this using the laptop’s webcam, which features two megapixels. You don’t have to worry about speed because it also has an i7-3610QM Ivy Bridge processor. Memory storage is placed at 12 gigabytes of RAM that can be expanded up to 16 gigabytes. Recording DVDs will also be a cinch, as there is a DVD burner included. As for power, the laptop comes with an eight-cell battery, allowing you to use it for playing games and other activities for many hours.

Some say that the Asus G55VW looks like a slightly smaller version of the G75, the previous model, except that the fan holes on the rear side are different. In the meantime, those who are excited to buy this new laptop from Asus will have to wait until the end of the month, when it will be available. The new line of laptops are said to replace the N45, N55 and N75 of last year. What is new with the laptops is that Asus has deviated from the conventional design. An evidence of which is the speaker grills as the new ones will have the whole keyboard pretty much covered. Speakers incorporated will be using the Bang & Olufsen’s ICEPower technology and there are some models where Asus own Sonic Master subwoofer have been incorporated. With this on the system, one can expect that audio will pretty much be in good quality.

In terms of display, the laptops will have 14”, 15.6” and 17” display respectively. The trio of laptops are said to have Intel’s Ivy Bridge processors on it. With respect to graphics card, it will have NVIDIA’s GeForce GT365M. Meanwhile, internal storage is a robust 1 TB while RAM is a good 8GB.

As for its prices and availability, no details yet. Although we do expect such information come the Design Week.

The Asus Transformer Pad 300 will be powered by Android 4.0 and will come with a wide range of features, such as a 10.1-inch IPS display with 1280 x 800 resolution capability, 1.2 GHz quad-core Nvidia Tegra 3 processor, 1GB RAM, 16GB internal storage, a rear-facing camera of 8 megapixels with auto focus, a 1.2-megapixel front-facing counterpart, an HDMI port, and Wi-Fi. Other connectivity options include 3G and 4G LTE. The Pad measures 263 x 180.8 x 9.9mm and weight approximately 635 grams.

10 hours of battery life can be expected for the tablet, which can further be extended to another 5 hours using a back-up battery within an optional keyboard dock. The dock certainly increased its functionality allowing it to operate similarly to a laptop; it also has buttons that are Android-specific to enable users to easily access a number of functions.

Although pricing details have not been officially announced, a number of online retailers, revealed their prices of the device, such as J&R that will be selling the 32GB model for $399 whereas the 16GB model was listed at $379. Additional information on the Transformer Pad 300’s pricing and availability will be provided by Asus on the tablet’s first day of shipping.

The UX31A will have a 13.3inch display while its partner, the UX21A will sport an 11.6inch LCD with matte screen options on both models can carries an excellent 1920 x 1080 IPS display resolution. Users will also get plus 350 points in terms of brightness on an IPS display upgrade and a note worthy 300 on a standard LCD although this will also mean a drop to the resolution, changing the UX31A to 1600 x 900 and 1366 x 768 for the UX21A.

Both units will sport Intel’s Ivy Bridge processors courtesy of the company’s 17W TDP low voltage range and will cover Intel Core’s i3 all the way up to Core i7. Users will also have a choice to either go for a 2GB or 4GB worth of 1600MHz DDR3L RAM operating at 1.35V. Graphics wise, both the UX31A and UX21A will be supported by Intel’s HD Graphics 4000. For storage, a SATA III SD that can load up to 256GB will be donned on both units. Chances are it’ll go up to 512GB with reports on the testing already taking place.

Inter terms of connectivity; both of Asus’ Zenbooks will suit Intel’s Wireless Display media streaming technology or WiDi, similar to that of Toshiba’s Portege Z835 and the IdeaPad U300s by Lenovo. Common traces include Wi-Fi 802.11n, Bluetooth 4.0, two USB3.0 ports, an SDXC card reader and an HDMI output. Rounding up the specs on the Zenbooks is a backlit keyboard with battery life of up to seven hours on the UX31A and around five hours to the humble UX21A.

The UX31A will measure in at 18.33mm and weighs at around 1.3kg while the UX21A is much thinner at 17mm and lighter at 1.1kg. Expected price tag should come at around $1,100 for the UX31A and $1050 for a UX21A. No release date was announced by Asus.

One thing recognizable about the 1025C is its design, dubbed “Flare“. It modifies the old Seashell laptop design to give the netbook a sleeker, more stylish look, such as the tweaked keyboard and metallic side panels. For those who constantly worry about marks that ruin the looks, the netbook has an anti-fingerprint matte coat, which gives it protection against those prints that can be left behind.

For the insides, it has up to 250GB in storage, 2GB in DDR3 RAM and resolution of 1024 x 600px on its little 10.1-inch LED screen, with the capacity for 1080p when connected to a TV via HDMI. The netbook is also packing a lot of power with Intel’s dual-core 1.6GHz N2600 (Cedar Trail-M) Atom CPU and a six-cell 56WHr battery, giving it the ability to run for 12.5 hours without charging. It’s more than what most of the other devices can boast, with the average netbook battery life being about 8 hours.

Another good aspect of the netbook is its price. Amazon is already accepting pre-orders at $299.99, and expects to ship on March 10. It’s a good deal for people looking to get something compact yet decent for a low price.

Welcoming the newest addition in their ASUS PRO B series is the B23E, a notebook that is built on sophistication, yet possesses physical attributes made for the brute and the clumsy. The Asus B23E Ultrabook is powered by a 2nd generation Intel Core vPro processors and will be available in i3, i5 and i7 variants. And eco-friendly but long lasting Boston Power Sonata long life battery gives it three times the life span of common li-ion batteries and charges the devices at 90% in just 90minutes. It measures in at a mere 1.1inch thick, making it superlatively handy yet robust enough to make good impressions.

Asus’ latest ultrabook with Windows 7 Home Premium will set you at $922 while an i7 processor will shed off $999.

What is a bootloader? A bootloader is a term used for a code that runs as the computer is turned on. It’s executed before the OS kicks in, and tells the OS kernel to boot as usual. What does this have to do with the Transformer Prime’s problem? Well, the Prime stops working if the user tries to install a flash ROM, and this makes the Prime very limited when it comes to options in customizing the tablet. The 128-bit encryption is also virtually impossible to hack past, making the community vent their frustrations at the manufacturers for leaving in this one feature.

Meanwhile, Asus has been busy with the software that’s expected to fix the GPS problems on the tablet through the v8.8.3.33 OTA download that’s just been released as a software update. Some Prime users are still a little wary, considering Asus’ track record with the gadget problems, so they’re shying away from it until someone can confirm that it works. The folks at XDA are also pulling this one into the spotlight alongside the locked bootloader, urging people to get on the bandwagon and demand that Asus fix all these problems using Facebook and Twitter.

Using the social media soapbox can be a good way to get the company’s attention, and hopefully we’ll see a positive result to something that can damage the Asus Transformer Prime’s reputation even more.
