Welcoming the newest addition in their ASUS PRO B series is the B23E, a notebook that is built on sophistication, yet possesses physical attributes made for the brute and the clumsy. With a magnesium-aluminum alloy cover and keyboard chassis, this ultrabook stands out among other traditional notebooks that are made out of traditional plastics. It is specifically designed to withstand more than its usual counterparts: it is drop, hinge and pressure tested to provide its users the benefit of safety when the B23E is exposed to rugged use, whether in the office or outdoors. The B23E is also equipped with a spill-proof keyboard with dedicated drainage system that funnels spilled liquids through the bottom of the notebook.

Although its specs are almost, if not the same with the rest of the Ultrabook family, the Asus B23E is without a doubt, still worth mentioning: it will don a 12.5-inch, 1366×768 LED backlit display, anti-glare screen and can handle up to 750GB of hard drive space and capable of dealing up to 8GB of DDR3 RAM. Common connectivity like WiFi, Bluetooth and Ethernet are also within the B23’s portfolio. One USB2.0 and one USB3.0 will add it speed support alongside a USB/eSATA port.

The Asus B23E Ultrabook is powered by a 2nd generation Intel Core vPro processors and will be available in i3, i5 and i7 variants. And eco-friendly but long lasting Boston Power Sonata long life battery gives it three times the life span of common li-ion batteries and charges the devices at 90% in just 90minutes. It measures in at a mere 1.1inch thick, making it superlatively handy yet robust enough to make good impressions.

Asus’ latest ultrabook with Windows 7 Home Premium will set you at $922 while an i7 processor will shed off $999.

What is a bootloader? A bootloader is a term used for a code that runs as the computer is turned on. It’s executed before the OS kicks in, and tells the OS kernel to boot as usual. What does this have to do with the Transformer Prime’s problem? Well, the Prime stops working if the user tries to install a flash ROM, and this makes the Prime very limited when it comes to options in customizing the tablet. The 128-bit encryption is also virtually impossible to hack past, making the community vent their frustrations at the manufacturers for leaving in this one feature.

Meanwhile, Asus has been busy with the software that’s expected to fix the GPS problems on the tablet through the v8.8.3.33 OTA download that’s just been released as a software update. Some Prime users are still a little wary, considering Asus’ track record with the gadget problems, so they’re shying away from it until someone can confirm that it works. The folks at XDA are also pulling this one into the spotlight alongside the locked bootloader, urging people to get on the bandwagon and demand that Asus fix all these problems using Facebook and Twitter.

Using the social media soapbox can be a good way to get the company’s attention, and hopefully we’ll see a positive result to something that can damage the Asus Transformer Prime’s reputation even more.

Asus recently introduced to the world the Eee PC 1225B as their latest venture in the world of netbooks and the newest addition in their Eee family tree. The newer version will be the updated version of its predecessor, the Eee PC 1215B and prefigures the Cedar Trail based Eee PC 1255C. And to make use of acronyms and put some glitter on the technical side, the “B” on the Eee PC 1225B basically tells the world that it will base on AMD Brazos and will come in separate gear speeds: an AMD C60 dual core 1GHz processor and the other, an AMD dual core 1.65GHz E450 APU. Both units will then carry the same spectacles: 12.1 inch LED backlit display screen, 0.3 megapixel camera, 2.0 and 3.0 USB, VGA and HDMI outputs, WiFi and Bluetooth. 4GB of DDR3 RAM and a 320GB of storage room rounds up the netbook.

Notebook Italia openly said that the Asus Eee PC 1225B will cost around €349 or $455. Not bad of a bunch of overloads in a specie some say is about to be extinct.

A quick look at its specification reveals that this tablet has a 10-inch WXGA IPS+ capacitive pressure-sensing multi-touch display capable of 1280×800 resolution. Moreover, it has the Corning Gorilla Glass on it. Its operating system (OS) is Android 3.2 (Honeycomb) which can be upgraded to 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich). As for its processor, it has 1.3GHz NVIDIA Tegra 3 Quad Core processor partnered with 1GB DDR2 RAM.

Storage is not a problem as there’s a generous 32 GB and 64 GB MMC Flash to choose from. There’s a pair of cameras, the rear one being 8MP while the front-facing is at 1.2MP. One can also find an HDMI port and SD card reader. Battery life is at 12 hours and can be used up to 18 hours provided that it is with the docking station.

Those itching to grab one has two colors to choose from – amethyst gray and champagne gold. If you’re in the US, you can avail the tablet at Amazon, B&H Photo, Tiger Direct and Best Buy. If you happen to be in Canada, do check Future Shop. Our folks over the UK may have to wait as there’s no word yet on its availability. The Asus Transformer Prime is priced at $500 (32GB) and $600 (64GB) respectively.

Previously introduced back in June during Computex event in Taipei, the upcoming netbooks are now featured on Tech in Style magazine sporting the same 10.1-inch (1024 x 600 resolution) LED Backlit display, Intel Atom N2600/ N2800 Cedar Trail processors, 1 GB onboard RAM (can be bumped to 2 GB), 250-500 GB SATA HDD storage, DVD Super Multi / option Blu-ray combo drive, webcam, equipped with 6-cell battery rated up to 12 hours plus WiFi and Bluetooth for connectivity. Both Eee PC models also feature Wi-Fi Direct for easy sharing of files with other wireless devices without the need for a wireless access point.

The Cedar Trail is Intel’s latest Atom processor for mobile gadgets fabricated using 32nm technology. The latter features a more compact design allowing both CPU and GPU installed on a single die and more power efficient.

The 1025C variant comes in a variety of colors: black, gray, red, matt white, glossy white, brown, pink and blue while the high-end CE unit will be in pink, blue and purple. Another difference between the 2 is that the CE features USB 3.0 and USB Charger+, the latter allows you to charge your USB gadgets/ mobile phones even when the netbook is turned off.

Price is still undisclosed for both but it should be divulged before the holidays. Stay tuned.

The Asus U32U is a lightweight laptop with solid CPU performance with its exterior similar to Intel-powered U36 laptop. The latter was previously fitted with an Intel Core series processor while the U32U is installed with power efficient and cost-effective AMD Fusion E-450 processor. The E450 is the updated version of E350 that promises to offer better performance and low power consumption.

ASUS has introduced ASUS U32U Fusion Laptop which features an AMD Dual-Core Zacate E-450 at 1.65Gh, ATI’s Radeon HD 6320 GPU, a 320Gb hard drive and 2Gb of DDR3 RAM at 1066Mhz. Other specs include a webcam, Bluetooth 3.0 and an 8-cell, 5,600mAh battery with 12 hours battery life. Connectivity comes with its 3 x USB 2.0 ports, WiFi, Bluetooth v3.0, 2 x USB 3.0 ports and HDMI Output for streaming videos and images.

The installed GPU hardware, Radeon 6320 enables increase in graphics core frequency especially in gaming. The 13.3-incher or to be exact, 13.3” HD (1366 x 768) with LED-Backlight laptop will likely land in US shores with a price tag of $509 (Windows version) and a two-year global warranty as shown in the online poster. Interested buyers may get the Asus U32U Fusion Laptop come CES 2012 with its DOS version retailing for $449 for its DOS version.

It’s a lightweight laptop with solid CPU performance coming from Intel’s Sandy Bridge processor. Variations in CPU, HD and RAM by regions are to be expected. A look inside its chassis reveals a Core i5-2430M processor with an Intel HD 3000 gfx. Going further with the specs is the 4Gb of RAM (DDR3-1333, 2x SO DIMM slots that accompanies the processor and complemented by a 750Gb HDD.

For the externals are Altec Lansing speakers, a headphone/ SPDIF out and mic jacks, a card reader and a 0.3Mp webcam. Connectivity options include a 2 x USB 3.0 and 1 USB 2.0 sleep and charge, HDMI, D-sub and a Gigabit Ethernet. Wireless features include a Bluetooth 3.0 +HS and a 802.11b/g/n WiFi. The laptop runs on Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit and is available in Silver color. The Asus U24E laptop has a dimension of 291 x 207 x 27.6 mm and weighs 3.3 lbs.

For interested buyers, the laptop costs around 59,800 Yen (or equivalent to $770); but price is US is expected to be lower once the laptop hits it shores. Release comes in November 5 for the Japanese tech market while the rest of the world will have to wait for now.

Looking closely at the Asus Zenbook UX31 will reveal an ultrabook in a gorgeous all-metal design and comes with a 13-inch display with a resolution of 1,600 x 900 display. This is thin and light as the Macbook Air and the best thing about it is that it is cheaper by at least $ 200 as compared with the price of the Macbook Air. And just like the Macbook Air, the Asus Zenbook UX31 also has a tapered design where its front bezel is noticeably a lot thinner than the back part of the laptop itself. Well, it seems that this new ultrabook is really taking on the Macbook Air seriously because aside from its price and design, UX31 has also managed to keep up nicely with the 13-inch Macbook Air in terms of its features.

So what can we expect from the Asus Zenbook UX31? First, this ultrabook will be powered by a 1.7 GHz Intel Core i5-2557, which is a low voltage processor required by Intel’s ultrabook specs. And because of this processor, the Azus Zenbook will be offering its customers a long battery life. In a summary, we can say that the strong points of this ultrabook are the following; a striking design, long battery life and its blazing performance. However, this ultrabook has its weak points as well and these include a flaky trackpad and its unpleasant keyboard.

The UX31 is available in three different configurations and comes with a price tag starting at $1,099 only. Watch out for more details.

The Zenbook UX21 is dubbed as the thinnest Ultrabook in the market. It sports a silver exterior panel and measures .11 inch thick (front) and 0.67 inch at its rear. It will also have an 11.6-inch display (1366 x 768 resolution), 4GB RAM, Bluetooth 4.0, USB 3.0, 128GB SSD, Bluetooth, WiFi, custom cooling technology and ASUS SonicMaster technology for rich audio quality. It will run on Windows Home Premium.

The 13.3 inch Zebook UX31, on the other hand, will sport the same specs as UX21 except that it will have wider screen resolution (1600 x 900p) and more SSD storage at 256GB capacity. Both laptops will be powered by Intel’s 2nd-gen Core i5-i7 processors and will be offered in ultra light designs weighing just 2.4lbs and 2.9 lbs, respectively.

In comparison, the 11.6-inch MacBook Air measures 0.11-inch (front) and 0.68 inch (rear) and weighs 2.38 lbs, while its 13.3-inch variant weighs 2.96lbs with similar thickness. Looking at those specs, the 2 devices are almost identical when it comes to dimensions, so it seems that we have a tie for the “thinnest laptop” category.

We previously posted a quick comparison between the ZenBook and MacBook air over 2 months ago. Back then, we thought that the Zenbook UX21 with a Core i5 CPU will push its price above $1K. But looking at the price point now, $999 (UX21) and $1499 (UX31) and corresponding processor units, Core i5 (UX21) and Core i7 (UX31), the Zenbooks are looking “really” good compare with MacBook Air.

The UX21 offers 4GB RAM (still at 999 bucks) while the 11.6-inch MBA starts at $999 with 2GB RAM while its 4GB variant costs $1199 (a $200 difference). MBA has a Thunderbolt port while the Zenbook has HDMI and USB 3.0. For sure, the Zenbook doesn’t have OS X Lion or Facetime like MBA but it offers other Windows-based alternatives.

We’re still on the fence here. Perhaps, a more thorough hands-on will settle this once and for all. What do you think?

The first AIO goes by the moniker ASUS ET2410 and can now be availed at a starting price of $899. It sports a 23.6 inch display with LED Backlight and 1080p of LED Backlit touch screen. It also flaunts a touch-optimized ASUS Cinema Software for movies, music and photos along with the latest Intel Processor, SonicMaster Audio, Digital Camera, VESA-mount points, USB 3.0, Wireless LAN 802.11 N, HDMI input, 3-in-1 card reader, USB 3.0 and multi touch controls.

On the other hand, the other two AIO units will be launched as ASUS ET2210 and ASUS ET2700. The former will be equipped with a 21.5 inch display while the later will sport a 27-inch display. And just like the ET2410, the other two AIOs will also be loaded with a Blu-ray Combo optical drive with 8GB of DDR3 Memory and up to 1TB of Hard Drive Storage.

The ASUS ET2210 will be released this October while the ASUS ET2700 is set for November. No word with respect to their individual prices.
