The Dell XPS 14z is basically a laptop that is enclose in a beautifully designed metallic chassis that measures 0.9 inches thick. Dell’s newest creation has a 23-inch High Definition (HD) touchscreen display that boasts a 1080p resolution. Looking at it, Dell has surely put a touch a class on it. In addition, Dell allows for customization of its unit as owners can select what their all-in-one would have. As for its processor, user has the option to choose whether the Intel Core i5-2400S (6MB Cache with clock speed of 2.50GHz) or Intel Core i7-2600S (8MB Cache with 2.80 GHz of clock speed) would suit his/her needs.

Graphics may also be selected as user can opt for the NVIDIA GeForce GT525M graphics card (apart from the Intel Graphics HD/HD 2000/HD 3000). In addition, user can also have his/her unit fitted with 2000GB or 2TB SATA hard drive and a Blu-ray combo BD-RE. This all-in-one PC also has six (6) USB 2.0 ports, HDMI, VGA and an 8-in-1 media card reader. Audio is provided by an integrated HD audio with SRS.

With a slight resemblance to XPS 15z including the 0.9 thickness, the notebook features a 14-inch LG’s shuriken display and NVIDIA Optimus graphics. Under the hood is a Core i5-2430M or Core i7-2640M CPU. It measures 13.19 x 9.21 x 0.9 inches and weights 4.36 pounds or 4.12 pounds for SSD upgrade. In the exterior part is a slot-loading optical drive and USB 3.0. As confirmed, the sale covers the US territory although it is already available in China, with the MacBook Pro challenger touted as the “world’s thinnest fully featured laptop”.

A thin bezel design is featured in its display which is a traditional 13-inch laptops’ feature. Xps 15z contains textured metal in smooth curves and clean lines. The screen sports a 300-nit 1920 x 1080 resolution with an automatic backlight adjustment. It’s fitted with a chiclet keyboard with a sea of slightly convex little squares and rectangles. The Cypress pad is accurate for single-finger input while the palm rest and speaker grilles are made of magnesium alloy and the whole surface sports a durable and smooth look.

There’s no word on price details, though, including exact availability date.

The blog also revealed some purported images that showcased the tablet’s Aluminum inlay along with its Anti-Glare Corning Gorilla Glass. It was also reported that the tablet will be sporting an NTRIG digitizer that can be safely stored on the tablet’s built-in pen storage. The tablet will be running on Windows 7 which can later be upgraded to Windows 8. The price of the tablet was not unveiled.

The rumored MacBook pro rival was suspected to rely heavily on Apple’s design as influence because of the marginal difference of both notebooks aesthetically sporting the speaker grills, aluminum frame, black bezel, battery meter and slot load optical drive that PC users aren’t really used on seeing.

We guess that the $999 picked starting price dethrone the rumors and confirms this look-alike to directly compete against Apple’s MacBook pro. Reportedly, the Dell XPS 15z was specially designed to be the thinnest 15-incher we’ll see on the planet. Thus, some are also saying that this new beast could probably compete at MacBook Air’s level too. The notebook is expected to sport Intel’s new Sandy Bridge processors, iCore 5 and iCore 7.

Dell is a premium brand and has a lot to live up to. Admittedly though, the company has been having some though times being left behind in the research field as innovation after innovation are being sported by their rivals.

XPS 15z will be the successor to the Dell Adamo axed last February. The new Dell laptop sports patterned perforated speaker grilles on either sides of the Chiclet keyboard.

Earlier this month, photos of this new machine were leaked courtesy of Mobile Review. Sporting an uncommon layout on its bottom half with the large grills and all, it sure looks neat! The design shares the same black bezel and silver frame resemblance to Apple’s Unibody MacBook Pro even with the five-dot button indicator for battery.

The new laptop is set to feature a 15-incher screen display along with Intel’s latest Sandy Bridge Core i5 or i7 processors and a pair of USB 3.0 ports. 14 and 17 inch versions of the notebook are also anticipated. Expected hardware features of course include an optical drive, LED battery meter and a webcam.

Not much detail was given about the exact specifications but it is expected to be roughly competing in MacBook Pro’s class. This might be a gamble on Dell’s part as the XPS 15z only have some very minor differences design-wise with the MacBook Pro.

This 10-inch tablet has putted the attitude in latitude with a 1366 x 768 screen resolution, front- and rear-facing cameras, dual digitizer for touch and stylus support, and a 1080p video output. A punch of processing power matches its exterior specs with 1.5GHz by its Intel Oak Trail Atom Z760 processor. Throw in 2GB worth of RAM and 128GB SSD, plus an accelerometer, and a Windows 7 ready platform, this gadget is ready for its band of consumer converts.

On the other hand, the Dell Latitude XT-3 will sport a larger 13-inch display monitor and will have a convertible form factor. Furthermore, it will be equipped with Intel Huron River i3, i5, i7 Core processor, 4GB of RAM, full-HD (1080p) playback, TPM, Bit Locker, Smart Card Reader, Fingerprint Reader, Encrypted HDD and a Windows 7 platform. It will also sport the new E-Family docking solutions.

The Dell Latitude XT-3 is slated for an earlier July release compared with the Latitude ST which is set for October of this year. No price details were announced for both tablets. In the mean time, future customers are yet to set themselves for the long haul. After all, for this fully geared tablet has 8-hour battery under its hood to stand a wear (or drain) out match with its future users.

Make way for the Dell Streak Pro, a 10-inch tablet, that is said to be a marriage of tablet and android PC. According to netbooknews, this formerly dubbed “Dell Streak 10″ will have a 1280 x 800 display, dual cameras and dual mics for video chat, and will have an active digitizer like its sister, Dell Latitude X3. This could only mean a lot handwritten love notes with a trusty stylus, at the time after it is released. The Streak is sure to stamp its name in the tablet arena by having a 1GHz peak, thanks to its Nvidia Tegra 2 processor. To complete the combo is the addition of the Android 3.0 Honeycomb, which will run alongside the tablet’s hefty hardware in Dell’s user interface called Stage 1.5.

Pricing is still hush-hush for this upcoming Dell baby for June. If that is not enough, the web still peculates if it is to have USB host and client features or will sport a dock with internet port, as told by androidcentral. For now, as Dell holds it piece, the world awaits for the Dell Streak Pro to arrive.
