With the Ivy Bridge hyping up graphics and multimedia functionalities of a laptop, it’s safe to say that HP is not letting others reap all the attention. As far as everybody is concerned, Hewlett Packard is on top of the list when it comes to performance and innovation, and with the recent unveiling of its four Pavilion laptops, HP is then looking for a very bright future and market value.

To put things on the right track, the HP Pavilion dv4-5000, dv6-7000, dv7-7000 will all bear the Ivy Bridge badge while the g4-2000 will be packing a Sandy Bridge processor. Both the dv4-5000 and dv6-7000 will sport a genuine Windows 7 Home Premium Operating System coupled with an Intel Core i7 3610QM 2.3GHz processor. The dv4-5000 is upgradable up to 8GB of DDR3 while the dv6-7000 is ready to carry up to 16GB of DDR3. In terms of hard drive specs, the bd4-5000 will have a 1TB SATA along with the 7020tx version of the dv6-7000 while its 7019tx variant will have a 750GB SATA.

The dv4-5000 will also don a 14inch diagonal HD Brighview LED Backlit Display while the dv6-7000 will have a 15.6inch display screen of the same design. Graphics wise, both are taken care by NVIDIA’s GeForce GT630M and will weigh in at 2.17kg and 2.57kg, respectively.

Moving forward, the dv7-7000 will also have a genuine Windows 7 Home Premium OS and an Intel Core i7-3720QM 2.3GHz chip with two 1TB SATA and suits up a 17.3inch Diagonal Full HD Anti-Glare LED Backlit Display. An NVIDIA GeForce GT650M for graphics and will weigh in at 3.15kgs.

The Sandy Bridge backed g4-2000 will come in with different processors including an AMD Dual Core A6-440M, Intel Core i3-2350M and i5-2450M. Memory and Hard Drive specs also varies between variants that can carry a maximum of 8GB of DDR3 and 1TB SATA. The g4-2000 will have a 14inch HD BrightView LED Backlit Display with AMD Radeon HD and Intel HD Graphics 3000 graphics card with a proposed weight of 2.1kgs.

Price tag for the g-series is at $630 while the dv6 and dv7 starts at $940. All are expected to be available by April.

As a background, webOS is a mobile operating system which has the Linux kernel as its backbone. Palm initially developed it until HP acquired it. According to HP, webOS will come to be known as Open webOS 1.0.

Surely, efforts haven’t been put to waste as the first component of the will be coming out and it’s in the form of a second-gen Enyo framework. So what is Enyo really if you’re asking? It is basically an open-source object-oriented JavaScript framework that emphasizes encapsulation and modularity. It has everything in it which aids in creating a fast and scalable application (whether it is used for mobile or entirely on the web).

To keep things simple and understandable, Enyo is a tool that can be used by developers in creating webOS applications for smarthphones and tablets. The HP Envy 15 has the same performance and quality as the 17 and 17 3D such as silvery aluminum chassis and black keyboard that lights up. The keyboard is already one of its great features as they provide illumination because each key uses an individual LED. It also has a sensor where it illuminates when the user approaches the laptop and deactivates after he/she leaves.

It also has six powerful speakers that help deliver clarity of sound and superior audio performance as they offer the Beats Audio that is developed by HP and Beats by Dr. Dre. If you’re familiar with it, you know that your audio is of high-quality.

When it comes to the inner specs, the Envy 15 packs a bunch. For one, it is powered by Intel Core i5-2430M and optional 3×3 wireless technology, meaning you can perform multiple tasks without suffering the laptop itself. Plus, you get three times the speed and twice the range when it comes to network connections. It is also powered by Intel Core i5 processor, 8GB RAM, AMD Radeon GPU,  a 750GB HDD, Blutooth, WiDi, Blue-Ray Player and one pair of active shutter glasses. Aside from that, the Envy 17 3D has 1080p full HD viewing that is compatible for 2D ad 3D content. With the 3D feature, you can now watch 3D shows and movies wherever you go.

When it comes to pricing though, better save up now because it packs a bunch. The HP Envy 17 has a starting price of $1,249.99 while its 3D sibling starts at $1,599.99 and will both come out on Decmeber 7, 2011.

Looking at the standard HP Pavilion DM4, it has a 14-inch display and has a Core i3 CPU running the show. As for its RAM, it has 6GB of it. Memory onboard is a generous 640GB that has a 5,400RPM capability. With respect to its look, it has the metal-heavy appearance that is simple and elegant!

On the other hand, the HP DM4 Beats edition is a beast in itself. Apart from its blazing beauty being black and having the Beats logo at a readable size, it has a 14-inch LED high-definition (HD) display. Keyboard is also black and has it backlit in red. Audio should we say is superb as it has Dr. Dre’s touch of sound on it and HP has even added a subwoofer! As for its processor, it has Intel’s Core i5 processor. RAM is a nifty 8GB while hard drive space is a spacious 750GB.

Availability is said to be by December 18th. The old school HP DM4 sells for $630 while the Beats Edition retails for $900. We do suggest that you start saving as the Beat’s audio equipped HP laptop would surely make your day!

The wireless audio system basically allows user to stream audio files straight from his/her PC to a multitude of speakers which can go as high as four (4) within a given range of 100 feet. It is relatively simple to set up as user only needs to plug a thumb drive gadget into the USB port and the other larger receiver onto the speaker itself and voila, your ears will be on a feast!

In order to totally connect and complete the setup, user needs to utilize the software CD to bridge the gap in the user interface (UI). In terms of processor, it has the standard Core i5-2467M coupled with a RAM of 4GB (expandable up to 8GB). Storage shouldn’t be a worry as it has 128GB of solid state drive (SSD) on it. HP has equipped it with a backlit keyboard and there’ the CoolSense Technology. A variety of ports can also be noticed are there are USB 3.0 and 2.0 ports, HDMI, Ethernet, card reader and a combo of microphone/headphone socket.

For purposes of comparison, let’s also take a look at the Macbook Air. It weighs just 3.0 lbs and has a height of 0.16-0.76 inches. It sports a 13.3-inch display glossy widescreen TFT LED backlit display. Running it is Intel Core 2 Duo processor with a 4MB on-chip shard L2 cache. Storage is 80GB parallel ATA hard disk drive (there’s an optional 64GB SSD). It also has a backlit keyboard, USB 2.0, Bluetooth, audio out and WiFi.

The new HP Folio 13 retails for $900 which means that it’s cheaper compared to the Macbook Air ($1,299 and higher). Availability in the US starts December 7.

The upgraded Windows 7 tablet will have the same 8.9-inch size but with notable variation in features including Swype, an Intel Atom Z670 CPU and a smaller 32Gb SSD. Furthermore, the tablet is fitted with security features such as Computrace Pro and TPM circuitry which tracks stolen or lost laptops. The business-friendly multitouch tablet’s multitasking performance will be enhanced along with the embedded security. It’s designed for professionals and others who are always on the go particularly in government, retail, healthcare and education industries.

Slate 2 Tablet PC allows users to create, edit and review contents on one mobile device because of custom-build applications support, security enhancements and a mix of rich features ideal for mobile environment. The swipe keyboard allows data entry with the use of either stylus or one continuous finger thus enhancing the touch experience. The mSATA SSSM technology and the Atom processor ensure faster boot times improving battery life and increasing performance all suited for business customers.
