Toshiba Satellite U840 ultrabook flaunts its sexy self and other features. See price and release date possibilities in the US.

In recent reports, Toshiba Australia has announced that the new Toshiba Satellite U840 Ultrabook is now for sale, contrary to the statement released by Toshiba USA that such device will be released in the third quarter of 2012. Apparently, the company was preparing for the U840 introduction and Toshiba USA was speaking exclusively for their region.

The Satellite U840 Ultrabook is the latest development by Toshiba for their line of devices in mobile technology. Measuring 14 inches wide, the U840 weighs a little more than 1.73 kg and has been deemed as an ideal device when travelling as well as when staying at home or work. Other specifications include an Intel ULV Core i5-2467M along with a Genuine Windows 7 Home Premium (64-bit) for its operating system.

Its 14” widescreen HD LED backlit display has a resolution capability of 1366 x 768 while a Hybrid 320 GB plus 16 GB SSD has been integrated for its storage. The U840 also comes with stereo speakers together with an external microphone in-port and a stereo headphone for its audio. Buttons and pointing devices include the Touchpad with gesture control. However, there have been unanswered questions about its Wi-Fi capabilities or battery removal as well as its availability in certain locations.

The Toshiba Satellite U840 has a starting price of 1,614 USD, including tax. Unfortunately, exact details regarding the release of the U840 in Europe and America are still yet to be announced.

Toshiba Portege M930 is a hybrid tablet/laptop device found in CES 2012. See its specs and features. Price and release date still at large.

Hybrid devices are coming out and the International CES 2012 is a great opportunity to show them to consumers. One company doing this is Toshiba, where their Portege M930 is hidden among many laptops in the Microsoft booth.

This 13-inch, 1280×800 display tablet/laptop hybrid is a bit of a hassle for some of the consumers, though the specs and features are great. For one, the screen is flipped backward and completely covers the keyboard so it can be in tablet form. It is rather heavy though as it weighs at 4.2 pounds and is 1.1-inch thick but if this is not a problem for you, then maybe this hybrid device is perfect for you.

For now, there is no touchpad but it has a stylus that can be found at the back of the laptop that works well on the screen. There is also a pointing stick on the right edge of the hybrid device that two mouse buttons. The Toshiba Portege M930 is run by a Core i5 processor and Intel HD 3000 graphics. It has a RAM of 4GB and a solid-state drive of 256GB.

For now, there is no word yet on the price and availability of this hybrid device despite being display on the CES 2012. There is also a rumor that the release may not come at all…but we just have to wait and see about it. For now, if you’re interested on this, better watch out for news and updates.

Toshiba Portege Z835 Ultrabook is sexy and light notebook cheaper than UX31 and MacBook Air. See specs, price and features at Best Buy

We all know that a lot of companies out there are willing to offer their revolutionary notebooks that claim to boot in split seconds. Of course, who wouldn’t want a portable fast-booting super thin computer that can last for a couple of hours? But let’s face the sad reality that most of these notebooks couldn’t fulfil their promise and we’re left with short-lived batteries and jumpy touchpads.

But it seems like the Toshiba Portege Z835 Ultrabook will be taking the glitches aside. It is said to be the lightest 13-inch notebook (weighing less than 2.5 lbs) that can manage to stay on for 7 full hours. It even claims that it won’t be committing the same mistake as ASUS Zenbook UX31 and will offer a smooth and accurate touchpad.

Specs wise, the Z835 flaunts a 13.3 inch display with 1366 x 768p native screen resolution. It runs on Intel’s 1.4 GHz Core i3-2367M processor and it is being powered by Microsoft’s Windows 7 Home Premium Operating System. Its 4GB RAM can be upgraded to 8GB while its 128GB SSD complements its Intel HD Graphics Card. It can connect to the web via Ethernet or WiFi.

Toshiba’s latest Portege ultrabook can only be purchased at Best Buy – though it hasn’t pop up from its database – for $899 which is way cheaper than both MacBook Air and Zenbook UX31.

Toshiba MK01GRRB & MK01GRRR are enterprise HDD with 15K RPM suitable for business owners. See specs, features and release date details. Price is still unknown.

Toshiba unleashes 2 enterprise-class hard drives suitable for business owners who need performance and durability from their equipment.

The MK01GRRB and MK01GRRR are 3rd generation of its class boasting 15,000 RPM speed at 2.5-inch size. These are high performance drives with maximum storage capacity of up to 300 GB – which Toshiba claims is the highest in its category. In addition, it utilizes 6GB/s SAS interface to support intense computing applications needed by customers.

The 2 models share similar specs, except that the MK01GRRR units have built-in encryption which can be used extensively to protect super confidential documents and files. The encryption technology can be used for data security without affecting the drive’s performance or to “crypto-graphically” erase data securely, without undergoing complex overwrite operations.

Both drives feature what the company called “enhanced power condition state” that lowers the drive spin during idle states. In effect, this makes the hard drives consume less power and lower heat dissipation. The 2.5 inch enterprise drives proves to be more efficient compare to 3.5 inch HDD in terms of data density and inherent power. Both Toshiba enterprise HDD models will be available Q1 of 2012 in 147 GB and 300 GB variants for still an undisclosed price.

FYI, earlier this year, Seagate had released similar enterprise-grade 2.5-inch drives with 15K RPM spin speed called Savvio 15K Hard Drives. It comes in 2 variants that provide data encryption technology, 6-GB/s SAS interface and storage capacity ranging from 73.4 GB to 300 GB.

So now, you have 2 options to choose from. Take your pick!

The smaller Thrive carries the same textured, rubberized signature back like its 10-inch sibling. Obviously, it’s more compact, weighing just 0.88 lbs and measures 1/2-inch thick. It is endowed with high resolution (1280 x 800) multi-touch panel, Android 3.2 OS, dual core Nvidia Tegra 2 processor, 5 megapixel rear camera with LED flash, 2 megapixel front-facing camera, WiFi, Bluetooth and comes in either 16GB or 32 GB storage capacity.

But unlike its big brother, the 7-inch Thrive sports a set of mini ports including a mini USB port, micro HDMI and a micro SD card slot. Meanwhile, users would be able to enjoy its other features like Toshiba’s Adaptive Display and Resolution+ 3 video enhancement technologies, stereo speakers and built-in GPS. Checking your emails, watching online videos and updating your social networking page is supported thanks to its built-in Adobe Flash Support. Pre-loaded Android apps are included and more can be downloaded via the Android Market.

The 7-inch Toshiba Thrive will be available in North America this December at a reported starting price of “under $400″. Obviously, this may change (for the better, we hope) as its debut date approaches. Stay tuned.

The Toshiba Qosmio X775-3dv78 is a 3D gaming laptop sporting a powerful specs but poor battery life. See its price and other features.

Those people who are looking for a 3D-enabled laptop and Blu-ray equipped laptop that comes with plenty of horsepower and certainly powerful as far as performance is concerned must take into consideration the new and upcoming Toshiba Qosmio X775-3dv78.

This new laptop is a high-end laptop that is not really cheap or portable at all. This laptop is actually listed as the new Toshiba gaming laptop that poses to be a heavyweight replacement for desktops. Toshiba Qosmio laptop has been known for being ugly as far as design is concerned so it is quite interesting to see how the Toshiba Qosmio x775-3dv78 would exactly look like.

The Toshiba Qosmio X775 comes with a dimension of 16.3 x 10.8 x 1.4-inches and weighs around 7.5 pounds only. This is believed to be still two pounds lighter than the Dell’s Alienware M17x R3. In addition to this, the Toshiba Qosmio X775-3dv78 will also come with the following specs and features:

powered by an Intel Core i7-2630QM processor

offers 1.25 TB of storage that has been split into two drives and 8 GB of DDR3 RAM

sports various ports include VGA, HDMI, and Ethernet sockets, as well as two USB plugs (2.0 and 3.0).

two additional USB 2.0 plugs and a pair of headphone / mic jacks

features a 5-in-1 card reader and some blinking indicator lights for power, HDD activity, and others alike.

comes with Harman/ Kardon stereo speakers that blast rich. clear sound even at its maximum value

comes equipped with NVIDIA GeForce GTX 560M GPU

runs with the Windows 7 Home Premium (64 bit)

Aside from these specs and features the X775 also comes with a Blu-ray RW drive and offers high-end graphics and excellent CPU performance. However, just like any new model, the Toshiba Qosmio X775-3dv78 also has its downside as well and these are summarize as follows:

bulky and heavy

poor battery life

not as portable as other laptops and does not fit easily into most backpacks and bags

The multitouch touch pad is oddly small for such a large laptop

As you can see almost all the specs needed for this upcoming laptop has been provided. It may be heavy, but it is equipped with the complete specs any users need.

The Toshiba Qosmio X775′s price is expected to be offered at a hefty price tag of $ 1,199. Do you think it’s worth it?
