In case you do not know, the Optimus LTE2 is the world’s first smartphone to have 2GB of RAM. It weighs at just about 145g. With it, we should expect that running applications as well as other phone processes (i.e. browsing) would be a piece of cake. As for its screen, it will have a 4.7-inch True HD IPS LCD that is capable of 1280×720 pixel resolution. Operating system (OS) is Android 4.0 or Ice Cream Sandwich.

Its robust 2GB DDR RAM should work pretty well with the 1.5GHz dual-core Qualcomm MSM8960 CPU embedded on it. As for its interface, it packs the Optimus UI 3.0. Moreover, there is a pair of cameras – 8-megapixel rear that has AF LED flash and 1.3-megapixel front – that comes very handy when taking stills or shooting videos. Battery is a 2,150 mAH. Lastly, it will has support for USB 2.0, wireless charging, Bluetooth 4.0 LE version, NFC and DLNA

The smartphone is much more like Samsung Galaxy S III (e.g. screen size, OS, camera, etc.) although it differs from the latter in terms of its RAM and processor (the Galaxy S III has the 1.4-GHz quad-core cortex A-9)

The smartphone is slated to be released and shipped to consumers in Korea this week. It retails for a price of 935,000 Won. No details though on when it will hit the shores abroad.

Not wanting to be left out, Electronics giant LG has come up with its own way of getting noticed by coming up with its own user interface. Its official name is the LG Optimus UI 3.0, and it’s a new user interface designed for devices running on Android’s Ice Cream Sandwich.

This new UI is designed for speed and convenience for the user, allowing for quick app launches, customizable icons, as well as app placement. The Optimus UI 3.0 features a Quick Memo function so you can jot down notes on the screen with your finger, a Pattern Lock for presetting the most frequent functions used then automatically launching it once the phone is unlocked, a Voice Shutter that allows you to capture photos with a simple voice command, and an Icon Customizer that allows you to use your own photos and other images as app icons or shortcut images.

The Optimus UI 3.0 is scheduled to make a debut on LG’s launch of the Optimus LTE II in Korea next week. The upcoming LG Optimus 4X HD, which is set to hit the shelves on June, is also expected to sport this new UI.

Rumored to eventually sport the name “Eclipse 4G LTE”, this new super phone will boast an internal engine combo of the most advanced handheld CPU to date: the 28 nm 1.5 GHz Qualcomm Q4 Krait Procie of the Snapdragon S4 series sitting on an APQ8064 chipset and paired with the similarly coveted Adreno 320 Graphics Processing Unit.

Slated to be out on the last quarter of 2012, this one amazing phone have more than the super processor combo to offer. Housed within the RAZR looking flat black plastic housing is a list of super features that complement the main engine. 2GB of RAM (of which LG is the first to introduce in a phone), 16GB of storage, 1280 X 768 HD display courtesy of the 4.67 inch WXGA TFT screen, 13 megapixel back camera and a complementary 1.3 megapixel front cam. It is also slated to be released via Sprint – which means that it’s 4G LTE equipped.

Powered by a 2100 mAh battery, it is guaranteed that even with the power hungry components; this will get decent hours of life. To round it off, even with its super packed internals, LG Eclipse (LS970) will not be more than 8.6 mm thick. Stay tuned for more details.

Technical details are still scarce but thankfully, LG allowed fanboys and geeks take a peek on some of its attributes. Notably, the Optimus LTE2 will sport Android 4.0 ICS (Ice Cream Sandwich) OS allowing users take advantage of multitasking abilities and faster system response. Its onboard screen panel size is still undetermined but it seems to fall on the 4.3 to 4.5-inch category. Boasting True HD IPS display, the LTE2 is expected to present higher resolution, color accuracy and lower power consumption compared to its predecessors.

Another thing to look at is its huge 2GB onboard RAM which is first for a smartphone – and even bigger than some tablet and notebook brands. The particular processsor to use is still undisclosed but many were expecting a quad-core variant be utilized to match the memory size. Other known specs include a 2,150 mAh battery which the company claims will improve the battery life by as much as 40%, LTE connectivity, renal smart camera, voice recording feature and WPC certified wireless charging feature.

The new LG Optimus LTE2 is expected to launch in Korea – to at least 3 local carriers – by May of this year. Unfortunately, price is still a mystery.

As shown in leaked online information, this 720p handset powered by the Tegra 3 quad-core processor comes in a white variant that is making its way to headlines this week. Running Android 4.0, the Optimus 4X HD comes in a sleek and untarnished look and sports capacitive buttons found below its screen that measures 4.7 inches; IPS colors are also evident for a pleasing media viewing experience.

The Quadrant benchmark scores that Engadget ran on the device reached a little over 4,000 which is less than what has been reported previously. Meanwhile, the Taiwanese site ePrice obtained 4,200 on the Optimus 4X HD, thereby suggesting that scores may change again once the final shipping of the device with its ultimate firmware is carried out.

It is still a question as to whether the handset will be a large competitor against similar upcoming devices, such as the newest Samsung Galaxy and the HTC One X. Anyway, if you think LG has done a good job in enhancing their new generation of phones, keep a lookout if the 4X HD will be run again for new Quadrant benchmark scores sometime in the near future. Price and release date details are nil for the moment.

With a casing made from 50 percent recycled plastic materials, it’s no wonder why it was given by the UL environmental body a ULE Platinum certification after a very careful scrutiny. The company also claims that the handset is free from harmful materials such as phthalates, mercury, halogens, and PVC plastics.

These features are only an icing of a cake. Powered by Gingerbread (Android 2.3), it has a 3.5 inch touch-screen display and uses an NFC (Near Field Communication) chip to enable its mobile payment support for Google Wallet. Other features to consider are its single-core processor of 800MHz, data connection of 3G, a virtually designed QWERTY keyboard, a rear-facing camera measuring at 5MP, a camcorder with flash, and a mobile hotspot capability which can accommodate a maximum of 5 Wi-Fi enabled devices.

Tagged as the newest eco-friendly smartphone, it is only expected that it has a very timely birthday. Set to arrive on Earth Day, April 22, the LG Optimus Elite will come in shades of White and Titan Silver. Well, it also has a very enticing price tag of $29.99. Each purchase goes with a service agreement of two years and a mail-in rebate of $50.

After shipping its Optimus LTE handset to South Korea, Japan, and the US, LG has announced that the smartphone will be given a new and significantly longer name prior to being released in Hong Kong. The Optimus LTE will be renamed as the Optimus True HD LTE. Many had surmised that the move may be a marketing strategy to compete with Samsung’s Galaxy S II HD LTE.

The Optimus True HD LTE features a 4.65-inch IPS display with 1280 x 720 resolution at 329ppi, which is higher but by just a few pixels than the iPhone 4s 3.5-inch retina display with 960 x 640 resolution at 326ppi. The smartphone runs on Android 2.3.5 Gingerbread, 1.5GHz Qualcomm dual core Snapdragon with Adreno 220 GPU, 1GB RAM, 8MP 1080p rear camera, 4GB internal storage, 3.0 Bluetooth, and 4G LTE.

No one knows the true reason why LG and Samsung have decided to go for a longer name before entering the Chinese market. Some even speculate that it might have something to do with some obscure Chinese superstition. What’s clear, though, is that LG is trying to point out that its True HD display if far better than Samsung’s HD Super AMOLED display.

High up in the grapevine are rumors of LG working on a device that could compete with the Galaxy S3. Dubbed the D1L, the alleged device is aimed to be a high end smartphone with top of the line specs and features.

Although rumors further say that the device opts for a Qualcomm dual core 1.5 GHz Snapdragon S4 processor instead of the quad core Tegra 3, alleged specs are still one of the sweetest packages found in a smartphone with a 4.7-inch HD 720p display, 4G LTE connectivity, and Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich operating system.

Putting it against Galaxy S3’s rumored specs of LTE support, HD display, and a quad core processor (possibly Samsung’s Exynos), online sources see the D1L as a possible worthy competitor to the Galaxy S3.

LG’s recent handsets, including the Optimus One line, have never really reached the kind of following as those of the Galaxy S or S2. With the D1L, LG could finally have a smartphone that can share the consumer base monopolized by Samsung.

The LG D1L is expected to be unveiled next month (the Galaxy S3 is slated to be announced either late April or May). Pricing info is still unknown.

For those who are not aware, the 4G smartphone is powered by Android 2.3 Gingerbread and comes with a 1.2 GHz dual-core processor as well as 1GB of RAM and a 4GB card microSD slot which can support a maximum of 32GB. The LG Viper 4G LTE also sports a 50GB cloud storage from Box, 5MP rear-facing camera with flash as well as a VGA front-facing camera, providing users with a convenient video chat experience.

For now, specifications are still not in the open but there are hunches on what it will feature. The LG Lucid is touted to have a four (4) inch NOVA display that can give off a 480×800 pixel resolution (there are 700 nits of brightness). The operating system (OS) it comes with is Android Gingerbread (although we would surely love for it to have ICS update once the phone is made public).

As for the processor, it is said to pack a 1.2GHz dual core processor partnered with 1GB of RAM. Capturing stills would be a breeze courtesy of its eight (8) megapixel camera that also has 1080p video recording capability. It also supports LTE 4G connectivity. It’s not known yet as to how big its internal storage would be but we could expect it to have a microSD card slot for expansion.

In relation to its launch, information gathered points to a March 29 release. However, this is yet to be confirmed by either Verizon or LG.
