Some fixes include the bug on Mehtan the Necromancer and a fix on disconnection issues when attempting to removea gem from an item with no sockets. Players trying to resurrect a fallen ally will now be properly interrupted. Aside from various fixes and ironing out of crash issues, one of the most notable is the nerfing out they did on the Monk character which has a super imba skill that causes critical hits during spirit regeneration. Another character that underwent balancing out is the Demon Hunter and the Wizard.

Not included in this tally are more than 1.2 million gamers who got the highly anticipated Blizzard action role playing game after signing up for the World of Warcraft Annual Pass promo, which makes more than 4.7 million copies of the game installed in PCs worldwide on day 1.

Also impressive is the fact that it sold 6.3 million copies on the first week. This also does not include Korean internet game room players who made Diablo 3 achieve more than 39% record share in that same week, making it the top-played game today. It even broke the record for the most preordered PC game of all-time on Amazon.com.

Perhaps what makes this third installment of the action RPG series popular includes its epic storyline which focuses around the fight between good and evil coupled with a simple and intuitive gameplay. Developers also incorporated players’ opinions and suggestions to its improvements. Diablo 3 is also designed to fully function on the Battle.net platform where players can join forces for coop play.

Three varieties of four on four battles to invade Safe Houses are part of the new pack. All the battle options were done by Batman’s enemy, The Joker. The first variety called the Graviton Technology Recovery lets players unscramble eight teleporter codes mixed into fragments. The second one is called The Rescue where players become heroes who race against time because while they rescue their hostages, their enemies also free arrested criminals. And the last one, called Bomb Disposal has players gain control of an intelligent robot in order to keep themselves safe.

Aside from that, a two-part adventure, where 16 players fight with each other in two teams of eight, called Headquarter Battles is also included in the pack. Kilowog the Green Lantern and Amon Sure from the Sinestro Corps will also be introduced as the new Legends PvP characters.

Treyarch and Activision has revealed Call of Duty: Black Ops 2. The game will be set in 2025 where a high tech cold war has emerged between China and the United States. Modern technology will play a huge role in the game as war assets include robots, unmanned vehicles and mechs. Cyberwarfare is also another arena for this 21st century war.

The story is deeply rooted with the previous Black Ops game, with the protagonist being the son of Alex Mason (protagonist of the 1st Black Ops), David Mason. The story travels from the previous Black Ops setting, the Cold War in 1980, then all the way to 2025. It will be the first COD game that features a branching storylines where the player’s actions and decisions have the possibility to affect the current mission and, ultimately, the main story itself.

Perhaps the part of the game making as much buzz as the game itself is its Zombie Mode, and yes, the developers has confirmed that Black Ops 2 will indeed feature the Zombie Mode.

Treyarch boss Mark Lamia has dropped the clue that they have “something special” in store for the feature, saying it is their “biggest, most ambitious zombie effort ever.” One of the things that piques the interest of fans is the fact that Treyarch Sound Designer for Zombies Collin Ayers has shown interest on what gamers wish to see in the next Zombie Mode.

The game will also support Direct X11 with tessellation and “other advanced graphics options”, possibly for those with computers that have been homemade with different parts to get high performance, but it doesn’t change the fact that Max Payne 3 needs high-end PCs to run.

PC gamers with slower or weaker systems may need to get upgrades or replace their parts if they want to get Max Payne 3′s PC version. As the game will be arriving on June 1, it’s best to start right now.

The announcement of the PC edition is indeed big news for Dark Souls fans, as it shows that Namco Bandai and From Software are listening to the community. Back in January, a group of fans led by game blog Rock Paper Shotgun started up an online petition to have the game ported over to the PC, claiming that several aspects of Dark Souls, most especially the co-op and multiplayer features, can work well with the PC. The idea quickly became popular, with over 90,000 signatures, making Namco relent to the fans’ wishes and announcing the PC edition, dubbed Prepare to Die, on April 7.

Aside from being a port, Dark Souls: Prepare to Die will have some new content to set it apart from the console versions. There will be several new bosses to defeat, such as Chimera of Tomb, new maps, NPCs, equipment, a matchmaking system for player vs player mode, and most importantly, a new story chapter wherein the Dark Knight Artorias must be defeated to stop the darkness from spreading across Lordran.

However, the game may have a rocky start, because it will be available on Games for Windows Live and not Steam. GFWL is not a popular choice for PC games, as its online support is horrible and that does not sit well for a lot of gamers, as most games do have online modes, and rocky support will only serve to make a lot of users rage-quit. Hopefully Namco will rethink this and make Dark Souls: Prepare to Die available on Steam, which is the most popular choice for games.

Problems aside, the game will come out on August 24 as a Windows-exclusive, which is enough to satisfy fans who want a bigger Dark Souls experience.

Now, instead of being a strictly single-player game, OMD2 will introduce what should have been there from the beginning- namely, co-op gameplay. Finally, players can have the help of a fellow apprentice when taking on the enemies and exploring the various levels in the game.

Because of this, OMD2 will have two different characters to play as, instead of the one from the previous game. Players have a choice between the male character, the War Mage carried over from Orcs Must Die, and the female character, the Sorceress that deals magic spells and mind-control instead of physical attacks. Unfortunately, only two people can join forces at a time to defend against the hordes, but some will argue that this is better than nothing.

OMD2 also has a slew of new features to entice newcomers and veterans like to have a go.

• New Campaign: Play as either the War Mage or the Sorceress for the duration of the story alone or with a friend
• More Enemies: Aside from some familiar faces from OMD, new types of enemies will be introduced in OMD2
• More Defenses: The spellbook has been expanded, so new items can be found or bought and used for equipment and upgrades
• New Upgrade System: The menu has been completely redesigned to make upgrades for defenses easier to accomplish

Robot Entertainment says that exclusive content will be available if the player has a save file of the original Orcs Must Die! game on the PC, which will make quite a lot of PC gamers happy come summer. However, there’s no word when other versions will be arriving, most especially the Xbox 360, which is the primary console for the first game.

Wasteland 2 project will receive its funding from fan pledges via Kickstarter’s crowdfunding which was opened last March 13, 2012. Although the minimum budget set for the project is a million dollars, the campaign was set to only $900,000 with Fargo pledging to fund the remaining $100,000 if the need arises. In less than 43 hours after the Kickstarter page has gone live, the project has reached its $900,000 minimum budget, and the pledges keep pouring in.

Veteran gamers who have played the original Wasteland game will be happy to know that Fargo’s team is planning to go completely old-school, keeping the sequel rooted to all the elements of the original post-apocalyptic video game that fans love, such as the deep cause and effect, dialog, and of course, the exploration. One thing that won’t be in the sequel, though, is the party system.

When questioned about how they plan to entice gamers who weren’t able to play the original Wasteland, Fargo answers that he isn’t worried, explaining that the game being designed for those who grew up playing the original game and the Fallout series (which in turn were influenced by the original Wasteland game). And while the developer seems confident that those who are new to Wasteland will indeed enjoy the game if they try, he confirms that they are not the targeted audience.

Also, amidst the growing popularity of many consoles, Fargo’s team has also decided to make only a PC version of the game, as the first Wasteland was released for Apple II, Commodore 64 and PC platforms in 1988.

As the funds keep pouring in, with 19 days to go and over $1,600,000 pledged from the original $900,000, Fargo announces that the extra funds will be used for more content as well as a Mac and Linux version of the game. He also adds that as the amount continues to increase, it will also be used to make the game better by hiring more writers for added depth, more music and sound effects, and a larger world to explore.

With 19 days left before its April 17 closing date, Wasteland 2 may be able to generate as much funds as needed to make the game worth the 23 years of wait and more. Speaking of waiting, fans will only have to wait a little longer as online sources reveal that the team is aiming for an October 2013 release.

While Bethesda has not commented on the issue, now we have an idea why there has not been enough information on Prey 2 and its release for PCs and game consoles since its public announcement almost a year ago. Three conferences that were scheduled over the past months for more details on the video game had been cancelled as well.

There have been too many speculations about where this story will go but many have been hoping for a favorable outcome. Some have suggested that Bethesda does not have positive perceptions toward the franchise, thereby following Activision’s footsteps. Others believe that a new publisher will be picking up Prey 2 if it’s not refused and get dumped.

According to the latest updates, Bethesda will be announcing official details next week regarding the status of the video game and its possible cancellation. On the whole, although nothing is pretty much certain for the release of the Prey 2 and its anticipated potential, it does not look very good for this much awaited video game.

Claptrap’s contribution to Gearbox’s scheme is found on the Borderlands 2 website in the form of a cheesy and suggestive love letter to the player. In it, the android details the various complaints received about Borderlands’ PC version and how the developer is planning on making the sequel better. Some of these changes include remappable keybindings, better menus, PC-specific interface, native muliplayer matchmaking, LAN support and high resolution support. Basically, all the things needed for a PC game to work properly.

Storywise, Borderlands 2 takes place five years after the events of the first game. Handsome Jack becomes the self-styled ruler of Pandora after ripping off the four vault hunters of the previous game, but starts seeing the player character as a threat after they win in Jack’s tournament. Left for dead in a tundra, the player is helped by the Guardian Angel and is tasked on saving the vault hunters.

The four playable characters are replaced with new ones, but are very much like their predecessors in a way. Salvador the Gunzerker, resembles Brick the Berserker, Maya the siren resembles Lilith the Siren, Axton resembles Roland the soldier, and Zero resembles Mordecai the Hunter. Claptrap will also be making a return as the player’s guide throughout Pandora.

Borderlands 2 is expected to arrive on September 18 for the US, and September 21 for the rest of the world.
