The upcoming Google Chrome 19 update brings "Tab Syncing" feature allowing you to see online sites you've visited with your mobile devices. See how it works.

Search engine giant Google has recently announced news of testing versions of their Chromes, both the operating system and its browser counterpart. Update for the browser, known as the Chrome 19 beta, features the ability of syncing tabs to several devices which you have used for signing in to your Google account.

This has been a helpful improvement as many users utilize more than one device when connecting to the Internet. This high level of connectivity has always been appreciated, although the issues that go with it have become a nuisance. For instance, to move from web browsing in one device to another one typically leads to loss of the websites that you have been checking out. Chrome 19 beta deals with this by demonstrating tab synchronization between/across devices.

As you work on your PC at the office, you no longer have to email yourself a list of the links of the websites you were browsing at work. Rather, if the Chrome 19’s beta version has been installed in more than one of your devices, you can sign in to your account, head home, and simply check the “Other devices” option that can be found on your new tab page. The menu will provide you with a list of the tabs and links that were opened in another device or computer.

Aside from the ease of loading these up, you also get to preserve the browsing history of the individual websites you have checked out all throughout the day, thus easier tracking regardless of the device you’re using. In addition, the newest beta version includes certain bug fixes and tweaks with which concerns with the Nvidia GPUs that use 3D graphics as well as incognito windows have been addressed.

Such web browser has been offered for Windows, Mac, and Linux users alike; for more information, you can head over to the official review page for the Google Chrome 19 Beta.

Stephen Wolfram and his Wolfram Alpha exposed how Google Instant would revolutionize search terms in the near future.

Stephen Wolfram is trying to revolutionize the way we think about instant searching with his critically viewed Wolfram Alpha that will, in due time, make Google Instant a run for its money.

The physicist, entrepreneur and chief executive officer of Wolfram Alpha looks on to put a new mark with his own version of what a search engine should be. Dealing with all the modern intake of Google and Wikipedia, Wolfram Alpha is something to be more than just the two aforementioned institutions but rather looking more to be a hybrid search engine. Queries from users will still be entertained but it will in turn fabricate scientific answers with its corresponding details. This fact alone erases the fact that what he and his company is implying is just a new concept of a search engine and goes more of being a knowledge engine with tons of information that goes along with answering a specific question.

Although the plan to hand in a reform on how we look at search engines and the Internet as a whole is seemingly vague, Wolfram plotted something that is physically possible where the CEO took an example of running into a person where “your augmented reality system automatically recognizes their face” and practically everything else in between: social network connections, email exchanges and thereby “compares it with things you’ve written recently and suggests interesting conversation topics.”

Wolfram posted in his blog post a personal agenda that depicts some of the data that he himself tracks in his own life that that this could eventually be helpful in the development of his proposed “preemptive gathering of information”. The Wolfram Alpha CEO archived every email that has passed through his inbox since 1989 and at the same time, Wolfram tracked his own keystrokes, the hours he spent talking on the phone and the like. With such evidence Wolfram presented, he went on to say that he is looking forward to be able to ask Wolfram Alpha questions regarding his life and what he did during his lifetime and to have Wolfram Alpha give him immediate reports and “do automatic computational history” like the how’s and why’s of things happened. Wolfram also dreams that his Wolfram Alpha project will make “projections and predictions”.

To put things in a perspective where everybody meets halfway, Wolfram Alpha will incorporate the searching strategies of Google and the information given by Wikipedia in one bold move that gives users pretty much everything that they want – answers, information and much more although Wolfram reiterated that they are not looking for a user interface reform, but they, as a company is “in good position to create it.”

Tickets for the upcoming Google I/O 2012 event are already sold out within minutes. See things to expect on this event.

Google had opened the registration for its fifth I/O conference on March 27, 2012 at 7AM PDT with 5,500 tickets available. In less than thirty minutes – a little over 20 minutes, to be precise – the tickets have already sold out. A quick check on their website reveals that the registration is already closed. The event will transpire at Moscone Center in San Francisco on June 27-29, 2012.

This event is one of the most popular in the tech world, with last year’s tickets selling out in under an hour. Those who have been hoping to attend the much awaited event this year but failed to register are filled with disappointment and frustration. Some are reported that they have been trying to get a ticket with many attempts since 7am to no avail while others have successfully registered in just one try, causing pissed off would-be participants to complain about Google’s queuing system.

The good news though is that I/O Live will be streaming for all key sessions with all session videos set to be available within 24 hours so those who weren’t able to attend can simply view the conference in the comforts of their own home. I/O Extended viewing parties will also be happening around the world.

So what can you expect from this event that makes it so popular? Google I/O provides participants with an opportunity to interact with Google personnel as well as be up to date with the latest developments in the web as well as mobile and social breakthroughs. Apart from the highly anticipated keynote, the event also has technical sessions, hackathon, code labs, developer sandbox, developer hangouts, and the popular After Hours party.

Registration for the 2012 Google I/O conference was sold for $900 for general attendees and $300 for students. One person still has a chance to attend the event, though. A ticket is currently up for auction on eBay with a starting bid of just $2,500. You can also “Buy It Now” by simply coughing up $3,900.

Google Screenwise project aims to know how netizens use their web browsers and surf online. Will it invade your privacy? See details.

A person’s web browsing habits may paint his/her personality and reflect what kind of person he/she is. This may be the case why Google wants to know or keep track of people’s browsing habits.

Google has designed two (2) programs for its “Screenwise” project that aims to increase awareness of how people relatively make use of their browsers. These are the “lightweight option” and Google’s partnership with Knowledge Networks.

The lightweight option gives user a Chrome browser extension as this will share with Google the sites user commonly visits and how it’s used. A user that sign’s up is given a $5 Amazon gift card (one every three months). The maximum amount stated by Google is up to $25 but the company still has to strategize how it will deal with users who are into the program for more than a year.

On the other hand, the partnership with Knowledge Networks (a company that undertakes surveys for companies) involves households receiving a “high end router” from Cisco and having it installed. Its purpose mainly is to record data traffic (through a firmware) during the web access made by the household. Payment for those who will participate is at $100 up front and an additional $20/month.

Details on the programs aren’t that specific yet but those interested to sign up for updates as well as register can go here.

Rumored Google X Secret Lab is a haven for geeks looking for state of the art technology - including driverless car and internet-enabled devices. See details.

Google’s secret lab is no longer a secret since it was already revealed that the search engine giant has a secret product lab called Google X. Apparently, this secret lab is the place where the said company develops products that are beyond your imagination. In fact, according to some reports, robots run free and the future is being imagined in this secret lab so we can expect almost everything to happen. Some of the new products being developed in the Google X lab include a space elevator, driverless car and internet-enabled devices or kitchen appliances. So imagine what the future could offer if these things really push through.

Some say that secret lab is as mysterious as the CIA and located into two different places. One is located in Google’s headquarters in California while the other one is in a secret place within the country. Well, it seems that Google is trying to be different and would like to explore a different field in spite of the fact that it has grown into the company that it is today. It is not really the first time that we have heard about the possibility that Google has a secret lab. In fact, we have heard of this rumor back in 2005 when a Google engineer posted an experimental website with the purpose of showing off a MAC-OS interface for the company’s services. However, after one day this site was removed already without any explanation at all.

Google’s self driving cars have also surprised a lot of people because of its advanced technology and this started the speculation that Google has a secret lab where such types of developments are being developed. Google’s spokeswoman, Jill Hazelbaker refused to comment about Google X, but stated that the company has been investing in various speculative projects that would be of help to many. If you still remember, another secret facility called Xerox PARC lab has also introduced the society to various innovative products such as the Ethernet, laser printers, and the graphical interface that has helped the late Steve Jobs in revolutionizing Apple.

Let us just wait and see what new products we can expect from the Google X and how it will change our lives in the future. Watch out for more updates.

New Gmail redesign will resemble like Google+. See new features and possible release date details.

Gmail users who aren’t in the know might be surprised to learn that it has already a new look. Yes people, we did say that it has undergone an aesthetic change.

A quick look on its development tells us that it was in late June that Google started to showcase the web app future. Surprisingly, Google has uploaded a video at YouTube wherein the changes that they have made have been explained. The new look on Gmail puts premium on being clean, simple and intuitive. Moreover, its theme has the touch of Google+ on it.

Some of the new features of the email interface include the automatic adapting to any size window. User is also given the power to manually resize windows on chat and label. The option to choose density has also been added and this perfectly suits user preferences on layout of components as well as the white space. Google has also made it simple for users to browse and read past email messages. In relation to this, the threaded messages appear on a new conversation view. Moreover, an advance search box has been put in place for quick and easy access. This is a drop down from the search field.

More details can be found on this video:

Currently, it is not quite clear yet on when the roll-out of the new look comes fully to all users. Some though have already started to view the new themes in their account.

Google Buzz will be closing in a few weeks. Will Google Plus be next in line? See details.

We’re not quite sure if the world would really be saddened to know about Google Buzz’s demise. But still, we’re sad to report that one of Google’s social networking services will be closing in a few weeks.

The whole announcement was made by Bradley Horowitz, Google’s VP for Product, last Friday (October 14th) along with an accompanying statement that the company will be focusing more on the development of Google Plus (Google+). The Buzz API will also be closed along with Jaiku, Code Search and Google Labs. These services will be closed in the next few weeks/months. Though, the exact dates of closure weren’t revealed.

Nevertheless, the death of Google Buzz alarmed some of our social media experts. And apparently, they seem skeptical about the success of Google Plus, as well. In fact, a statistical report from Chitika Insights also revealed the newly established social network’s continues a downward trend. And despite of the network’s 40 million users, statistics shows that most of these users have little to no activity.

Well, we really can’t predict the future of Google’s newest social network service. Who knows? The search engine giant may manage to succeed. After all, they were quite tight-lipped and have yet to comment about the aforesaid findings.

If you're wondering how to add a Google Plus 1 (+1) button in your wordpress blog, check this simple plugin. Guide and quick download coming up!

A blog site made generally from a WordPress publishing platform can have the taste of a Google+ widget using a plug-in and some desktop maneuverings.

The widget can also be incorporated by adding some PHP codes to a template. Adding a Google+ 1 button works in the same way and makes sense with any Google profile. WordPress themes are also available while WP Plus, a theme content menu and SEO optimized, is possible by tweaking the site’s code. The new and per-invite social networking site of the popular search engine provider has been providing several options to make its presence felt worldwide.

The process of integrating the plug-in takes the following steps: Download googlecards.zip; Unzip the file; Upload the unzipped files to the `/wp-content/plugins/` directory; Activate the plug-in; Go to Widgets menu in WordPress; Add widget to the sidebar and Choose a widget title and google+ id. Of course, the blog site should be WordPress-created.

In order to display the widget anywhere in the template, a few PHP codes are all that is required. Or a widget API may be needed to allow its use in multiple sidebars. WordPress is a widely known open source tool for blog sites and a publishing platform using PHP and MySQL programming language. You may check this site for more information about the plugin.

Google Credit Card for Adwords Members is coming soon. See details and other information for its beta release

Advertising gives people to right to choose from an array of different products. Realizing that this is really what drives competition in the market, Google has embarked on an initiative in offering credit cards to its advertising customers.

This offer is being made by Google to advertisers who are into AdWords. With Google’s credit line, advertisers are assured on a no annual fee and there’s an 8.99 percent annual percentage rate. Meanwhile, MasterCard will be issuing Google’s cards. Google has thought of this strategy as a way to aid small as well as medium businesses increase their sales with volumes of advertisements when needed i.e. before holidays.

Google recognizes that these businesses don’t have the resource or are financially constrained with what they only have. The Credit Line will depend largely on the cardholder or in this case the company’s customer/client. This card can only be used by companies in purchasing AdWords advertisements.

There will already be a “beta” testing by next week (Wednesday) and a number of customers will have invites from Google to participate and start using the credit cards. Google though hasn’t released any word on who the companies are. This is commendable on the part of Google considering that they are thinking of the small businesses that would benefit for such initiative.

Google+ Vanity URL can be processed at gplus.to site. See how to do and get your unique URL code now.

Google’s new social networking site Google+ operating since June 28, 2011 in a test-mode basis also allows users to invite their friends. The platform’s features are overshadowed, however, by the site’s refusal to recognize profilers’ vanity URLs replacing in its stead a string of numbers.

A vanity URL or domain name points to something indicated in the URL, be it a product, a service or a personal profile. This is to prevent spammers from intruding to the privacy of users or deciphering their accounts since most google accounts are interlinked to their gmails. The only problem is the difficulty in remembering those long numbers that identifies a unique user.

Gplus.to comes to the rescue by simplifying the URL for easy sharing with friends and is more convenient to remember. Although not a google product and owned by a Turkish developer, it facilitates URL identification by shortening it.

Users may input 3-25 latin characters without numbers of other special characters and may come in the following form: Gplus.to/myname, after copying or pasting the string of numbers. Currently the service is being swarmed by new users every 1-2 seconds and continuously growing by the minute. Other networking sites provide vanity URLs to their users by placing the user’s name in the URL.

(source)
