Super Bowl commercials are widely anticipated, as much as the game and its half time show. The reason is that commercials shown during the game are made memorable to take advantage of the hundred million viewers watching the game.

The top list of commercials of the 2012 Super Bowl is already out. To watch the game, just go to NBCSports.com or at NFL.com. Viewers can use laptop, desktop PC, and even a tablet to watch the game, but not mobile phones. The rights to stream this year’s Super Bowl is with Verizon and not NBC. Verizon will offer mobile streaming of the game through the NFL Mobile Premium app. Further, the mobile streaming will actually show the TV broadcast and not the broadcast shown online.

The maximum resolution of the online broadcast will be at 720p. The broadcast will also have an automatic resolution adjustment feature for those who cannot handle the HD resolution. Sadly, there is no 3D option for this broadcast.

Ads of Super Bowl broadcasts are highly anticipated, and the next question is whether the online broadcast will also show the ads as that on TV. There will be a different set of ads for the online broadcast, but the new commercials will be shown by NBC through an “on-demand component” immediately after the TV airing of the game. The ads will also be aggregated through AdZone by Hulu and Ad Blitz by You Tube.

Another different about the online broadcast versus the TV broadcast is that the live online streaming will feature more camera angles, highlight clips, live stats, DVR controls and social-media updates.

The Super Bowl 2012 online broadcast is intended for US viewers. The streaming may also benefit Canadians, but only through mobile phones using Bell Canada’s Mobile TV app. The good thing about this live streaming is that it is free, provided the viewer is not using the any data plan.

Anonymous has unveiled a call between FBI and Scotland Yard regarding a joint effort in a cybercrime case. This case is now under investigation in New York, Baltimore and Ireland. Apparently, Anonymous posted a recording online for public access containing some names that were censored, but later on a leak also came out containing the names and contact information of the alleged participants. In addition to this, Anonymous also claimed that they are behind the defacing of the Boston Police Department‘s website wherein an altered page has been made containing a rap video entitled “Sound of the police.”

Well, it seems that Anonymous is really on the works lately and promises to make more hacking incidents in the coming days and months. This may be just their way of saying that they are against SOPA or any other act that protecting copyrights over the web. Online piracy has been a recurring problem over the internet and this is the reason why the SOPA has been created. But ever since we have heard about the SOPA, Anonymous has also been very active in doing their hacking activities.

Anonymous seems to be taking all these so far as evident by its consecutive attacks particularly with the government and its agencies. In particular, the fax machines, which were manufactured in China, have been discovered to have a tendency to overheat as a result of an internal electrical component failure, thereby posing hazardous threats to consumers. As reported by the CPSC, the voluntary recall involved all HP Fax 1040 and 1050 models. These can be easily identified through an HP logo along with a model number that have been printed on the front of the machine. More specifically, the fax machines are colored dark gray while measuring 11 inches in height and 14.5 inches in width.

Apple and Motorola, as we may have witnessed, have had some bad blood between them, particularly in Germany and as it progressed, Motorola is gaining the upper hand with a victory last November. Moving forward in current issues, a European Patent outlining a “multiple pager status synchronization system method” – a mouthful of word by which, according to Motorola, iCloud infringed. FOSS Patents reiterates that the said injunction points towards Apple’s Ireland based European distribution arm but only applies to its German market and not the whole of Europe. Being “permanent” on paper, the issue is still “preliminary enforceable” which means that Apple is still capable of appealing. On the other hand, Motorola can enforce the ruling with a €100 million bond. Moreover, Apple had been seeking a bond amounting to €2 billion but was denied.

In summation of the issue, a BBC report states that Apple’s pleas had been heard and the ban has been lifted after Deutsche Presse-Agentur said that the company has pulled out every iPhone 3G, iPhone 3GS, the iPhone 4 and other 3G/UMTS enabled iPad from its German online store as a direct response to a decision that was made last December where, again, Motorola won an injunction case against Apple. That December issue says that Apple’s 3G/UMTS technology infringes one of Motorola’s European patents and that Apple lost its appeal to the Karsruhe Higher Regional Court.

The pulling out of Apple’s products out of their online stores was answered via an emailed statement to PaidContent which states that “Apple believes this old pager patent is invalid and we’re appealing the court’s decision.” In addition, with regards to the 3G/UMTS case, Apple is said to be looking for a reversal and even though some iPad and iPhone models are not available via the said online store, they are still present and consumers can still avail them at one of their local stores and authorized resellers.

It was believed that the young man had been playing a popular online multi-player battle game called League of Legend (LoL) for 23 straight hours that day. LoL was developed by Garena, a Singapore-based gaming service. However, the cause of death was not due to this game, rather it was heart attack caused by a blood clot. Rong’s family said that he had been reclining treatment for a heart condition since September. It was assumed that the low temperature, fatigue and lack of mobility might have triggered the attack. Currently, Sandia is looking for a private company that can help them in completing the testing phase of this project and eventually bring guided bullets to the marketplace. This guided bullet, which is about 4-inch in size has undergone both simulation and field testing already. During these tests the bullet was able to reach a speed of 2,400 feet per second. As compared with missile technology, the technology being used with this bullet is quite different because this guided bullet has an optical sensor that can detect a laser beam on a target thus, allowing the bullet to hit the target with accuracy.

At present, the bullet is still a prototype and still undergoing a few enhancements and tests. However, if this self-guided bullet will be able to pass the series of tests that will be conducted by a private firm who is expert in such field, then the possibility that this bullet will be accessible to recreational shooters, law enforcers and military men is really big. Some even compared this self-guided bullet to the one being featured at the movie entitled “Wanted”, but of course this bullet needs a lot of tests to ensure its accuracy and precision.

During this stage, we cannot also avoid some engineering issues, but its developers are confident that they can resolve these engineering issues using their technical know-how. Reportedly, Apple is said to be censoring rap music and other tunes with explicit lyrics downloaded via the iTunes Match and replacing them with “clean” versions of the said track.

Launched last November, iTunes Match is a $25 year service that matches your songs from your iTunes library with high quality versions of the same songs on Apple’s servers and at the same time, lets you download and play those songs via your iPhone, iPod and iPad without the help of a Wi-Fi connection and cables.

Going back to the supposed problem at hand, Mashable has conducted a test by ripping an explicit version of Jay-Z’s The Black Album and uploading it to iTunes Match. And as expected, iTunes Match immediately replaced it with a “clean” version – no curses, no name calling, no everything. In the same effort, Cult of Mac also reported that songs coming from Ice Cube and Kanye West are also affected by the censoring.

In as such, the problem is not that deep and does not seem to affect tunes that were bought on iTunes. The current censoring may be a result of information in the tag file attached to the AAC songs that notifies whether the song has explicit lyrics or not.

This issue was taken into consideration by Eddy Cue, Senior Vice President of Internet Software and Services of Apple and was contacted by one of their engineers. In an email, the problem was acknowledged and stated that the company is currently working to fix the problem.
