You think Firefox is the only one affected with the unceasing streak made by Chrome for the past months? Think again! Just so you know, we received a report today that Big G’s three-year old browser manage to surpass Microsoft’s Internet Explorer 8 as the traffic of the latter falls continuously for this year. This feat made by Chrome makes it a possible candidate as the world’s most popular browser in the world wide web next year beating all the remaining points from IE’s other versions.
According to Statcounter’s chart, beginning the third quarter of this year, the global traffic of IE8 is hardly able to keep itself on 25% in which it totally plummets starting week 47 whereas it’s noticeable Chrome 15.0 traffic soars on top of the chart now projected to eat as much as 25% of the worldwide market. Meanwhile, you can see Firefox is left out from the race whereas its 3.6 version only represents 15.53% traffic for the past few weeks.
Likewise, this graph only represents specific version from a particular browser. But, if you add the total shares coming from one company you can see Internet Explorer still has the lead at 38.5%, Chrome at 27.08% and Firefox at 25.55% (Mozilla officially beaten earlier this month).
As of the moment, there’s no telling if Chrome can keep its pace towards edging IE completely with its super-fast updates, since we all know Microsoft is prepping up to release Windows 8 next year along with IE10 as its default browser.
