For Chrome Netbook and Chrome OS fanboys, I’ve got a bit of sad news. It seems that our most awaited Google-OS powered laptops aren’t going to come this year.

The reason behind this is that the famous netbook manufacturers such as Acer and HP have recently announced that the Chromebook or shall I say Chrome-based Netbook is not to be released until next year, 2011. Acer’s Jim Wong has further confirmed this statement during Acer’s previous Global Press Conference.
On the other hand, rumors has been leaking out that Google will launch its own version of the Chromebook as a part of its beta or testing form. Not much detail with regards to the specs has been released. But we do know that the said netbook will run on Intel Atom Pine Trail. It will be available as a part of an early adopter community. Additionally, we’ve also been hearing out that Taiwan’s Inventec has already started producing 75,000 units.
As to whether these rumors are true, Google doesn’t tell. But they are indeed planning to share more details later this year. I guess this will keep us all curious and excited.
Google definitely does love to leave us hanging in mystery. Don’t you agree?
