An online web app store that is being planned by Google was previewed last Wednesday in San Francisco at a Google conference for software programmers. The Chrome Web Store to be offered by Google will not only make user’s access for apps easier but also will help web developers to reach large audience and offer their creations easier while being paid with a sure convenient and secure payment system.
According to the Google Vice President of Product management Sundar Pichai there are indeed lots of amazing applications available on the web but the problem is the lack of a particular place to find it all. From there came the idea of offering a Chrome Web Store which will be an open marketplace for users and web developers as well. It will be a venue for great applications, ratings, reviews and user comments.
It will also be following easy steps with just signing in your Google account and boom, you can buy your chosen app with just a click away. But this you can all get if you are using Google Chrome. Yes, the web store can only be accessed with Google Chrome since the store will be built right into the Chrome. But it doesn’t mean that the app you bought would only work with Chrome, it will also work on other browser acting just like an ordinary app. Web apps listed in the planned Chrome Web store are all regular web application grounded on standard web tools and technologies. These web applications will run with other modem browsers.
Surely this web store will be a venue for easy selling and buying of apps for your browser just like how easy you customize your iphone, Android and other Smartphones. An example of an app that will be found in this web store is the famous Plants vs. Zombies and Leo Star Wars.
The planned Web Store will surely be competing against Apple store which had already recorded 12 million downloaded apps during its debut in April. Also like the Apple store, Google will also be offering free downloadable apps.
Google had not yet specified a date for the launching of tits web store and only said that it will be accessible to its more than 70 million Chrome users later this year.
