While “everything we know” might not be wrong all the time, but we are willing to go and say that the next Call of Duty will be Black Ops 3.
People have been talking about Activision’s new teaser and obviously, fans of the series will only think of it as the next big thing. At first sight, gamers might mull on it as a whole new title, or the second installment of the World at War. But nearing the end, it slowly depicts that it will most likely be Black Ops 3, thanks to the three “I”.
Reviewing COD’s timeline, we can see that the Black Ops franchise started in 2010 and was given a follow up title in 2012, with Ghosts launched in 2013 and Advanced Warfare in 2014. In a perspective, Treyarch was also responsible for World at War back in 2008, and it seems clear that Black Ops 3 will be based on WWII.
We cannot take the throne off Modern Warfare as Call of Duty’s main bullet, but we can also give due credit to Black Ops, considering that it sold around 5.6 million copies in the United States and in the UK in its first 24 hours of announcement in 2010. Black Ops 2 broke the record with a smashing 7.5 million and a whopping $500 million in sales in 24 hours.
April 26, 2015 is D-Day, but we’re betting that Activision will hint more in the coming days.
