Remember the big fuss Electronic Arts Inc. kicked up when it bought 15 domains for Command & Conquer: Alliances? It turns out that one of them has been chosen as the site for the up-coming game, and it’s tiberiumalliances.com. Yes, it’s been confirmed that Alliances is part of the Command & Conquer: Tiberium series, and the actual name of the game will be Command & Conquer: Tiberium Alliances.

Tiberium Alliances brings in a new flavor for the long-running C&C franchise via MMO experience. There’s also need to download for the PC, as the game will be accessible on your web browser. It’s also going to be available for mobile devices, so if you’ve always wanted to play a game on the go or while waiting for the next train to arrive, this is your chance. The game will prominently feature social gaming and real-time news feeds, adding to the difficulty of the game, because this time you wont be up against the computer- you’ll be up against the whole world, and it’s up to you to decide how you’re going to survive.
It’s worth mentioning that this isn’t the BioWare game that was announced during the VGAs. That one was another Command & Conquer game, but under the Generals title. Instead, Tiberium Alliances is being developed by Phenomic, known for real-times games such as the SpellForce series and BattleForge.
Closed beta gameplay is starting today, December 15, 2012, and you can join in by going to the site above, which will then redirect you to: alliances.commandandconquer.com. There’s no word when the game will be out for the masses, but you don’t need to worry about saving up for it. Tiberium Alliances is completely free to play. No credits, no purchase fee, and definitely no monthly charges
